Amazing location & very clean. Small room with very comfortable futons & shared living areas with a wonderful host & her sweet dog. We stayed a night to visit the snow monkeys early the following day & it was perfect!

Onsen directly in the hostel.
Great location next to bus stop, you can even walk to monkey park (1h).
Cutest location to stay at, great restaurants around and mini market. Nice cafe for breakfast 3 min walk away.
Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
Best hostel I've been in Japan. The hosts are just the best, they are so nice and social, they really care and I had the best time there. The common area is very nice and the beds were comfortable too. They had free coffee and tea too. The washing machine was very cheap but it took a lot to dry. They give you so many nice recommendations for places to eat at and places to see. Overall a very good experience
Amazing staff give great recommendations and are always around for a chat! Facilities are clean and cosy, common room is really well set up to encourage hanging out and getting to know your fellow travellers. One of the best hostels I've ever stayed at.
The service is next level. We hadn't had such a warm welcome at a hostel for a while. The hot cups of tea and free snacks and scones made us feel so comfortable after a long travel day. The staff are so friendly and fun. The hostel is an old-style japanese inn so you can expect paper walls and same for the bathroom. You feel at home here and it's close to the temple and a cheap 100yr old bathhouse. A good place to connect with other travelers too
Sweet sweet people! True backpackers vibes in that cosy hostel. I felt at home there, even though my stay in Nagano was short. If you’re backpacking the region, book there without hesitation.
The atmosphere is very cozy, it feels like home! The staff was so kind and helpful! Thank you so much Hiroko-san for your kindness! Undoubtedly one of the best hostels I've been!
I needed somewhere to sleep on a tight budget as I had mis understood and booked elsewhere . This was the perfect solution. I have never used accomodation like this. I found it comfortable, exceptionally clean and safe.
Best hostel I've stayed in in Japan so far. The hostess was SO sweet and kind, and the while place is very cozy and feels like home. Definitely worth the 20 mins walk from the train station
