Budget travelers know there's no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: Save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
The hostel has a huge kitchen/common room that has tons of facilities (eg. for cooking). The staff are kind and helpful, and the hostel is at a great location.
Location..close to town.
There was a youth hostel like communal kitchen which would have been good to know about so that we could have taken advantage of it.
They allowed us to leave bags prior to checkin time.
Right in the centre of Portree, near the port and most dining places.
It's a hostel, so there's a shared kitchen, which was quite large and well-equipped.
Rooms had the spare minimum (bunk beds, chair).
The host lets you get on with your stay in private, you are greeted on arrival and a farewell as you leave.
Great location, cheap for Portree, so take it for what it is, if you want top quality accommodation then pay the extra and stay somewhere else!!
This property is not B&B, but the host kindly supply’s cereal
Youth hostel in the center of Portree. Facility very clean, well organized with very nice rooms. No complaints. Kitchen very clean, easy access, three stoves so cooking something was very easy. Great place.
The bedding was surprisingly comfortable for a youth hostel. I also liked the self-serve kitchen and they had some games and puzzles in the community area. Hostel manager was very nice and talkative.
This hostel is in a great location with an excellent and relaxing common with a view of the harbour. It also had games and books available. The communal kitchen was well organized with cubby holes to store personal food items. Labels and pens were provided to personal these items.
The bed was very comfortable with two pillows and a lovely duvet. A lockable storage cupboard was available...just bring your own padlock. The bathroom shower was very good.
Pretty good for a hostel. location is good, right opposite a cheap carpark.
We didn’t really cook, but the kitchen was big and plenty of appliances. Also the shared living/dining space seemed to have a busy atmosphere if thats what you’re into.
Portree youth hostel is a great hostel.
Very good location right next to Portree Square, location of the bus station, and close to all amenities.
The rooms, bathrooms and common areas are very clean.
The staff is also very friendly, very attentive.
