Clean but basic accommodation, excellent value for money. Good kitchen facilities. Hot showers and heating on as needed for comfort over the cold winter season. Extra charge for bedding, but worth the additional cost. Excellent location for easy access into Keswick or elsewhere in the lakes.

An excellent stay helped by the snow on the hills. Host was very friendly and got the fires going each afternoon which was welcome to return to. You will not be disappointed if you check what the accommodation is- note it is a barn, fires cannot heat it so warm clothing is needed. Very comfy beds and organised with curtains for privacy.
This Lakeland slate house is 0.5 miles above Buttermere village, and ideal for the famous Haystacks walk. YHA Buttermere has a bar/restaurant with views of the Red Pike and High Stile mountains.

Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
It was clean and tidy.
We had a problem with the front door which was repaired on the 2nd call out.
The window in the bedroom with the bunk beds had a lock, but no limiter to stop the window opening too far and children climbing out which we reported as a safeguarding concern.
Great location right in the centre of Keswick so everything was so handy to walk to. Really friendly staff. Rooms were small but clean and fresh. Breakfast was very tasty. The whole hotel was decorated to a lovely standard so it felt super luxurious, enabling us to relax straight away and enjoy a really wonderful break in Keswick. Car park straight outside the back and they even gave me a permit at a cheaper rate for our stay which was nice.
Beautiful grounds, amazing views, great location. Cost of the apartment was cheap and suitable for our budget. Bedrooms were a decent size with comfortable big bed and bedding.
Great location, friendly staff, nice and warm during a very cold spell. Lovely bar/cafe. It's a youth hostel, so hardly luxurious accommodation, but it was clean and comfortable and exceeded my expectations. I loved the sound of the river flowing by.
Cheap and cheerful. Good facilities for a bargain hostelry. Have stayed before and will return over winter.
