Came with a group of friends stayed for 4 nights, room was comfortable and clean. Pool was lovely and the location was excellent, all of Tamarindo is within walking distance. Staff was extremely friendly and very helpful, giving great advice for our next stops in Costa Rica, also organised surfing for us with a great instructor. Would definitely recommend!

The team here is truly awesome, very friendly, and always available. Breakfast is excellent. The beach is right in front of the hotel. I only have to say 5 stars in all respects.

Great location so close to the beach and many restaurants around. Secure parking (even though you can only put it in parking at night so it discouraged us from taking the car out to explore each day as you need the staff to let you in and out). No hot water in the shower but at least the shower pressure was really good.

It was in a good location, very close to town. Was one of the cheapest hostels in Tamarindo. Rooms were decorated nicely.
Budget travellers know that there is no better way to make the most of their trip than by staying at a hostel: save money for exploring during the day, and swap stories with fellow backpackers in the shared kitchen or bar in the evening. Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a bit more.
What an awesome stay. Could not recommend it more! Great location (15 minute walk from the beach and 10 minute walk from town). The hostel is so clean and tidy, the staff are incredibly kind and friendly, the pods are amazing!! If you're a solo traveller and you need a little privacy after staying in so many hostels, this is the perfect option. And on top of that the butterfly garden is just so cool. 10 out 10, will definitely stay here again when back in Tamarindo.
Best hostel ever - beautiful place and beautiful people, made the best friends and had the best time. Special shout out to Marco, the kindest surf instructor, and Tuba the dog!
Maria and Mati are incredible and have created the best Hostel in Tamarindo. Friendly, Clean, affordable, and have created a great vibe for those looking to surf.
Nice airy hostel. I stayed in the 8 bed dorm. There was plenty of space around each bunk bed, a fan and AC and a cabinet each to lock with key. Although a small hostel there was ample communal space in the front ( large sofa, table) and on the balcony plus some work out space. Kitchen was clean and well equipped with new pans etc. Staff were really welcoming and super helpful going the extra mile. Location was great. Quiet time 10pm to 7am and not a party hostel which is what I wanted. Very well run and friendly.
One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. Small, cosy and super friendly place. The staff were very welcoming and helped me numerous times throughout my stay from booking tours and trying to find transfers to booking surfing lessons at the hostel (highly recommend!). Special thanks to Camila who was incredibly nice and helpful :)
As for the room, it was also nice. Even though the room is for 8 people, it is quite spacious and clean.
Best Hostel I've ever been!!! Everything is great, the rooms are comfy, the bathrooms are clean and tidy. The kitchen is very complete, they even have free coffee, sugar, salt and oil! The staff is very cool and helpfull with anything you need, Kelly the manager is the best, she wants the best for You and your trip. Great location just 200 meters from the centre of the town, close to all night clubs and food places! I Will come back for sure. :)))
We did not have high expectations for Tamarindo, but ended up loving our time there - mainly because of the hostel. The owner is very sweet and helpful, it is easy to meet people in the common kitchen area and the 10-minute walk into town makes for a calm atmosphere out of the party district. On a backpackers budget, Tsunami hostel is really good value for your money. We felt very welcome here.
