Value stay in a very expensive country right off the train stop. Booked last minute and was greeted without problems and given instructions on where my room was. Lovely 2 bed room so we did not have to share a room with others. Only shared bathroom facilities down the hall, which is more than fine. A lovely dining area is available to purchase coffee and breakfast if you please.
Only 0.9 mi from the ski elevators, this youth hostel is located in Grindelwald. The sun terrace and the lovely breakfast room have beautiful views of the Bernese Alps. Packed lunches are available.

Location, location, location! You are literally staying at the top of the mountain, which is only accessible by cable car. After 6pm, it's just you, the staff and other guests on the mountain. We were able to get stunning pics from the overlook bridge without the crowds or long wait. You are definitely paying for the opportunity to have time on the mountain sans crowds.
The ride up is not included with the reservation, and it's a beautifully scenic 25 minutes to the top. Finding the entrance for check-in took a minute, but locals directed us on where to go. We checked in at the bar, and the staff was very friendly. We booked dinner for the evening (there's really no other option) and the food was good.
Our room was small and clean. The mattresses weren't the most comfortable and there was no way to control the heat, so we got quite warm during the night. We had the window open for a while, but didn't feel comfortable sleeping with it open. Shared restrooms for all hotel guests, though they are separated by male / female. Clean and functional.
Breakfast was included, and it was fine, though probably our least favorite of our trip.
It's a rustic mountain experience - like staying in an affordable, clean ski lodge - hostel-style. We enjoyed our stay and the overall experience.

The hostel is located close to the Engelberg center. Everything is reachable by foot. The facilities were super clean. The dinner menu was very good value for Switzerland and breakfast had a large variety of food. I would definetely stay there again. Lockers are big enough, except for huge suitcases.
Youth Hostel Brienz is located on the banks of Lake Brienz, a scenic 15-minute walk from the Brienz Train Station.

The room is simple, but comfortable. The room has a sink, which is great! The view from the room and garden is amazing! Bathroom and kitchen were also good. They offer a dinner, but you need to reserve in advance. It’s located very close to the center, but the final part of the way is very steep - there’s a bus (check schedule as it stops in the end of the afternoon ). Staff is friendly. I would stay there again.

Dorm-style bedrooms with shared bathrooms are standard hostel fare, but private rooms are also available for those willing to pay a little more.
Great location in the middle of the village. Not far to the shops, within walking distance. Flat is rather new and all you needed was there. Reception has very specific times when it is open, be aware of it. Great play room for kids. loved it.

Such a comfortable stay and a great location to spend a few days seeing the best parts of Switzerland! The staff were so helpful and even gave me an ice pack for my knee after a hard hike. The room was very comfortable and the bathrooms were clean. The patio with a waterfall view was a bonus!
Great location. Free safe parking for a motorbike. Staff were friendly and efficient. There was a wide selection for breakfast.
