The host was completely fluent in English and Portuguese, and answered lots of questions about the town and surrounding area. The room was large and quiet, with a large spotless bath. Breakfast was a nice selection of fresh foods.

Casa do Telheiro, a property with barbecue facilities, is set in Sabugueiro, 44 km from Mangualde Live Artificial Beach, 19 km from Manteigas Hot Springs, as well as 29 km from SkiPark Manteigas. We loved the place. Joana was very nice and helpful, she gave us many suggestions about places we could visit and have a nice chat with us. Everything was clean and tidy. The room was comfortable and so was the bed. The place is very quiet and we had a really peaceful and relaxing experience

Located in the centre of Manteigas, Casa D’Avenida is a newly renovated family house, sited within the Serra da Estrela Natural Park. The room had a comfy bed and a nice little balcony with mountain view (due to very bad weather we couldn't use it, unfortunately). Downstairs there is a nice seating area with an oven which we used to get dry and warm up after some very rainy hikes. The guest house is located right at the little stream flowing through Manteigas, so restaurants and shops are right around the corner. (We recommend Infusao, just a couple of steps up the stream from the guest house.) The breakfast was amazing and very extensive, even when only us two were left at the hotel. Best thing: we could pack bread etc for lunch, tea and coffee were always available downstairs, as was the amazing home-made cake. We were looking forward to this after every hike.

Located in the Natural Park of Serra da Estrela, this 19th century building of granite stone offers traditional rooms with balconies. Very quiet, pretty little village with wonderful views. The house was comfortable and well equipped, breakfast (and dinner at their restaurant) was excellent. The best of all is that the houses are run by a very professional, kind team that run the extra mile to make ou feel at home. we had a wonderful time and would happily return in the Summer to try out that pool with the views!

Located at the foot of the Serra da Estrela mountain range, in the town of Manteigas, this hotel offers elegant rooms with free Wi-Fi. Free parking is possible on site. Everything was great, very clean and comfortable. The food was excellent and the staff extremely helpful.

Stunning location, hidden away but still very accessible. Wonderful hostess who couldn't have done more to make us feel welcome. Very comfortable beds, quality furnishings/decor and spacious, well equipped bathroom. Various living areas to relax in with wonderful warm log burners and great views. Breakfast was delicious, with quality ingredients, and plentiful.
