The Backwaters lodge has everything that a naturelover is looking for. We really had the best time here in the middle of nowhere close to the Wilpattu National Park. The staff is really helpfull and very friendly, the rooms are right into nature but still have the luxury of having warm water and AC, great and an extended breakfast and dinner, I can go on and on. If you want to go on a safari at Wilpattu they can arrange a private jeep for you (which is a must do ofcourse). Further to fill in your time you can just hang out at the beautifull chillspots on the ponds or in the jungle or you could go kayaking with the kayaks available at the lodge. We wished we could have stayed longer to enjoy the lodge a little more.

Kurumba Lodge is a wonderful place with an awesome family. From the first welcome drink until the last moment of GoodBye it was an unforgettable lifetime for us. The son Naditha and his parents supported us in nearly every aspect, we could image. Wether it was some technical problems with my camera or an unforgettable safari – in every moment, they were so helpful. The self made food, the drinks, everything tasted very well. The place of the lodge is also very nice. The terrace with a wide view, all the wildlife animals – for us as nature lovers and photographers – perfect. And by the way, the bed, the matress, the AC – we slept like in heaven. The hardest thing was to say goodbye, because it felt already like at home. We felt in love with these wonderful and heart warming people.

The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. They booked a safari in Wilpattu only 1.5 days before our arrival and everything was very well organised. The safari itself was much better than expected: we had the luck to see 4 leopards, a sloth bear and 4 golden jackals, on top of many beautiful birds and reptiles. The resort provided breakfast and lunch to take on the safari, as well as snacks and drinks. Everything was very tasty and plenty. Also breakfast and dinners were very tasty and more than we could eat. All in all, we had a very good stay. Thanks so much!!!!

Don't understand the bad reviews. You get what you pay and for this price you get a big clean room, what do you need more? Good location to start the trip in the nationalpark. Can recommend it 👌

Situated 35 km from Kumbichchan Kulama Tank, Green Sapphire Holiday Resort Wilpaththu offers accommodation with a balcony, as well as free bikes and a garden. Dylan has been a eonderful host. He welcomed us despite we arrived earlier than check-in time, pick-up and drop off were wondefully planned, same for the organitazion of the safari, and breakfasts and dinners were everyday different and were delicous! We would recommend it

Situated in Achchamulai, Wilpattu Green Cabin features accommodation with seating area. The property has lake and river views. Great location, very calm and quiet environment with water front. The owner is very friendly and helpful to make that we had a pleasant stay. The pllace was very clean and the food was really yummy. The bird watching boat ride at sunset was really awesome.
