Plantation Retreat is tucked away in Kandy, just 400 metres from Patanpaha Bus Stand. It welcomes guests with an outdoor swimming pool and free WiFi access. Sarath and his family are the most welcoming and amiable hosts we had on our journey in Sri Lanka. The lodging is on top of a hill and inside a plantation so you are all surrounded by beautiful nature. As part of the plantation Sarath and his family are growing their own coffee and spices from which Sarath's wife cooked a most delicious breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed our stay at Plantation Retreat very much and will never forget the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. We can very much recommend a stay here.

Overlooking stunning nature views, Strathisla Guest House features an outdoor swimming pool and barbeque facilities. Guests can also enjoy free Wi-Fi access at all areas of the property. This place is magical, it wowed us from the moment we saw it. The location is stunning, right in the middle of the mountain jungle with fascinating flora and fauna. The old colonial style house is soaked in history. Morphti was an amazing host and Mohan is the most amazing cook, we had some exceptional feasts of great Sri Lankan food. We will definitely go back!

The owner met us on arrival. As it was everything new to us, we had a good few questions and owner couldn't be more than helpful. He advised us on the places we can visit, where to exchange money etc. Communications been very clear. The house is located within working distance to the very busy town, but in the very quiet area, so we had a very good sleep 😁 If you are looking to visit Matale and looking to stay near by highly recommend to stay at this property 👍 This was a first time we saw the monkeys 🤣🤣

We were well taken care of and the food was out of this world. They make all the food in house and it’s super delicious. Edward, the manager speaks really good English and will accompany you on giving tips around what can be done in the area. The hotel is placed in a calm estate so you hear birds and insects and a lot of nature. Overall it was a superb stay and we wish we could stay there for a bit longer.

This 1930s bungalow is sprawled across 98 acres of a tea plantation, at the foot of the Knuckles Mountain Range. I will carry this magical place in my memories for my whole life. Extremely stylish tea estate that seems suspended in time and space.. me and my girlfriend just couldn’t stop taking pictures with our camera all around the property! They have a breathtaking veranda where you can enjoy your meals, especially the dinner at sunsets.. a charming swimming pool, marvelous rooms and a private waterfall!! Amila, the manager is one of the nicest and most professional persons I have the privilege to met during my time in Sri Lanka took very good care of us and I recommend not to miss the tea plantation tour and tea tasting with Mr. Das, the historic memory of this beautiful place. What else to add? Two nights weren’t enough but that’s a good reason to go back!
