Situated within 2.2 km of Morioka Station and 100 metres of House of Morioka Town, Tototo Morioka features rooms with air conditioning and a shared bathroom in Morioka. Morioka is a nice, quiet city and Tototo is in a lovely peaceful neighborhood. Dela-san, the owner is very friendly and helpful with information about the area. The Sunday dinner and Monday morning walk were both among some of my favorite highlights of my trip to Japan so far.

Great guesthouse with a spacious Japanese-style bedroom. Everything was spotless, and they have a time-slot system for the shared bathroom so that it's easy to use. The breakfast was also delicious. We only stayed one day, I wished we had stayed at least one more. The staff was very kind and agreed to store our luggage on check-out day so that we could go to Geibikei gorge hassle-free. Geibikei is an easy 15-minute stroll from the guest house.

Minpaku Suzuki is set in Hiraizumi, less than 1 km from Motsuji Temple, 2.5 km from Chuson-ji Temple, and 5.5 km from Takkoku Seikou-ji Temple. I had an amazing stay there. The host were extremely friendly and tried to speak with me as much as possible, even though I can barely speak any Japanese. The room was a nice traditional style Japanese room with tatami and futon. The breakfast was amazing and probably the most nutritious breakfast I had in my entire life. Furthermore as already mentioned by other people they take you to the local onsen and restaurants by car. Overall a fantastic experience. Be aware: Due to the nature of the house it can get very cold in the room in winter. However the host will give you a heated mattress, an oil heater and multiple blankets to combat the low temperature which worked very well for me.

Situated 16 km from Chuson-ji Temple, Matakitai offers 1-star accommodation in Ichinoseki and has a garden. Great Japanese breakfast on the time of your choosing.

Located 34 km from Chuson-ji Temple, ゲストハウス蘖 -ひこばえ provides accommodation with free WiFi and free private parking. The holiday flat is quite close to the Sakura spot of Tenshochi Park and the Michinoku folk museum. The flat is located at the riverside with a lovely view and is decorated prettily. The owner is nice. She showed us some beautiful places when we arrived and drove us to the station when we had to leave.

Located just 2.5 km from Morioka Station, Buchoho No Yado Morioka features accommodation in Morioka with access to free bikes, a shared lounge, as well as a shared kitchen. Nice place to stay! Walkable yo many location! Will stay again!

タカマス民宿 is located in Ōtsuchi, 10 km from Kamaishi Recovery Memorial Stadium, 18 km from Kamaishi Station, and 41 km from Iwate Prefectural Fishery Science Museum. I stayed longer than I intended. The little town radiates peacefullness. And so does this guesthouse. I felt so comfortable and respected here. I was so perfectly treated I just wanted to stay longer. I actually did. And I want to go back. Live at the end of the world again, feel that small measure of peace again.
