It was warm, clean, and very comfortable, the perfect place to come home to after a day of exploring the area of Myvatn. The host made us feel very welcome. We very much enjoyed the well-equiped kitchen. A nice surprise was that our host made freshly baked banana bread. We really felt home here and would definitely recommend this place to other travellers!

Kopalnice so skupne.... Very clean, great shared kitchen, bedroom large and comfortable. The staff is amazing especially Monika who helped me pay a parking fine. She went above and beyond being helpful. A really lovely person that helped me and made my stay so nice.

Offering rooms and cottages, Hlíd Hostel is 500 metres from Lake Mývatn, in Reykjahlíd. WiFi and parking are free. Facilities include a BBQ area, terrace and shared kitchen. Upon arriving at the location we were told that the hostel was under construction on short notice so they upgraded us to one of their cottages. The staff were very helpful and we had an amazing stay. Even though the weather wasn’t the best that day we still had a stunning view over the lava field and the lake.
