Staff on-site can arrange airport transfers. Atmosphere and Activities: Gibran's homestay has the best atmosphere among all the places we visited in Raja Ampat. They make sure everyone is happy with their stay, and every meal is an occasion for chatting with the other guests. There is a different activity (e.g., snorkeling tour) every day, and the plan is flexible to accommodate guests' needs. Diving can also be easily arranged with other homestays on Kri. Rooms and Common Spaces: The bungalow is basic but clean, the bed is comfortable with fresh sheets, and the large hammock on the deck is definitely the best we’ve had in RA—relaxing there is just amazing. The shared bathrooms are clean, and the shower is very powerful. The food is always different and tasty (more than in other places). Location: Kri's south bay is wonderful. From your room, you have an incredible view, with easy access to the sea and the reef. You can swim to the reef, and during low tide, use one of the nearby jetties. The long, white sandy beach is worth a walk as well (you can see the beach from your room). The house reef is beautiful, and the current is less strong than in other areas, which makes snorkeling very enjoyable.

Rooms had mosquito nets. No rats. Faucets everywhere to rinse off the feet. Amazing coral reef and of course the staff..

Towels and bed linen are provided in the homestay. The best homestay and location we’ve seen and lived in during our multiple trips in Raja Ampat. The homestay has a fabulous house reef and is in front of the Citrus Ridge. What makes Avinsea special is the owner’s family and people who help them in the homestay and with trips. We felt welcomed and taken care of like their friends, enjoyed every minute of our stay. Food was generous and most delicious, plenty of fresh fruit and snacks. All trips to snorkelling spots were well organised (we were most impressed by Yeben island), we even did night snorkelling with them we will never forget. There was always somebody from Avinsea snorkelling together with us – we felt safe and able to see the sea life we would have never spotted on our own (crocodile fish, for example). They collect plastic garbage from the Citrus Ridge, take care of the reef. Stay as long there as you can. We are in another homestay now and missing the vibe of Avinsea. We will revisit this homestay during our next trips to Raja Ampat for sure.

Everything is done with so much care and attention—the space is incredibly clean, well-maintained, and welcoming. The food is simply amazing, prepared with dedication and full of flavor. The family running the homestay is incredibly friendly. Although they don’t speak English, they use translation apps to communicate, and if their nephew is on vacation, it’s very easy to communicate in English. Tomás, who manages the homestay, is fantastic! He made sure to take us to all the places we wanted to visit and even offered us a boat tour around the area on our last day—a wonderful gesture! The bungalow is simple but cozy, equipped with a large fan and a mosquito net, ensuring a comfortable and restful stay. The location couldn’t be better, with sea views on both sides of the island and breathtaking sunsets that are truly magical. The homestay is completely isolated, offering the perfect environment for tranquility and relaxation, despite being very well located close to key spots. Speaking of location, must-visit spots like Pyanemo, Tugas Island, and Melissa Garden are just 5-10 minutes away by boat. The only downside is the lack of network coverage at the homestay, so it’s important to plan all your activities and dives in advance if they’re not directly arranged with the homestay. The bathroom is simple but super clean. The shower is traditional, using a bucket, but it’s surprisingly pleasant. If you’re looking for diving experiences, we highly recommend Pam’s Divers. They are slightly farther away, but they are extremely professional and friendly, making the experience even better. An unforgettable experience—we highly recommend it!

Just ocean in front of the room. The family was super nice and food was very tasty. They made a birthday party for me and we had great fun together!

Situated on the beachfront in Waisai, Coco Huts Guest House has a private beach area. The property features sea and mountain views. The guest house has a steam room, sun terrace and outdoor fireplace, and guests can grab a bite to eat in the restaurant. We had a really special time at the Coco Huts homestay. The family put a lot of heart and effort into making our stay a great experience. Everyone was very kind and welcoming. Delicious and varied food, clean bathroom facilities (water containers were constantly replenished), great ocean view from the bungalow. The host took us on a number of trips, including a trip to Wayag, which were really well-organized, and we felt super safe on the boat as well as snorkeling with a local guide (the reefs in the area are amazing). The transfer back to Waisai was well-organized as well. If you’re looking for a quiet get-away from the more crowded areas like Piaynemo, this is definitely a good choice.

The homestay owner contactes us prior to our arrival to check if we were finding our way (they also offered a taxi pick-up at the harbour) and welcomed us with open arms. The homestay has a nice small garden where we had breakfast. The owners also helped us to arrange our taxi next morning

In front of haus is a sea garden with colourfull corals, fishes and even sharks. Beautiful place worth to visit again if the world wouldn’t be so big and my wish list wouldn’t be so full.
