Old-fashioned transistor radio so retro. Using your palm to activate keypad to open door was the first for us. Good suggestions given by owner for walks.

Really enjoyed the facilities and hosts who were very kind and helpful. The room had a great design and atmosphere. Breakfast was very generous. We highly recommend.

The family-run Ambleside Townhouse is situated in Ambleside, 800 metres from Lake Windermere. It offers en suite rooms and a full English breakfast in the morning. The room was big enough, clean and tidy. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any request we had. Absolutely recommended. The location is perfect because the bus stop to Windermere and the city centre was 2 mins away.

The Westbourne is a beautiful guest house set in the peaceful area below Biskey Howe in the Lake District. Bedrooms feature walk-in-shower rooms, luxurious toiletries and large fluffy towels. Very clean room & great location!

Jerichos is a contemporary family-run guest house with stylish decor situated on a quiet side street in the heart of Windermere village. There is free Wi-Fi and free ample private parking. 10 minutes walk from the lake, very cosy lounge where you can drink wine, relax and discuss your daily experience. Very quite area and hotel. I have slept much better than in busy London. Hosts prepared wonderful breakfast that was dreaming about the whole day!

Just 1 mile from Lake Windermere this beautiful Victorian house is set in a peaceful location between Windermere and Bowness. The place is very quaint and I loved how each room is themed differently on explorers and nature. Also, loved the fact that we were welcomed to some warm mulled wine( it was freezing outside) Also, the breakfast is amazing !

Craig Walk Suite is set in Bowness-on-Windermere, 38 km from Derwentwater, 43 km from Askham Hall, as well as 50 km from Trough of Bowland. Exceptional self check in service. A welcome message was sent which outlined all the best places to eat, walk and visit. The mood of the room when we walked in was really relaxing. The additional prosecco, chocolates and balloons was a perfect touch for my partners birthday. We've stayed in a few of the high end hotels in bowness and none of them had the personal touch or feel that this place did. Thank you, we will be returning.

Featuring garden views, Ellerhow features accommodation with patio, around 1.1 km from World of Beatrix Potter. Excellent location, walking distance from everything. Road parking was never a problem. Extremely clean and well equipped, including mini fridge, microwave, plates, cutlery, all in the room. Loved that there was also a fan. Very nice host. If we ever return to Windermere, we will definitely be back at Ellerhow.
