My favorite stay in Taiwan! This was more than a hotel as it really felt like I was at home. The moment we arrived we were greeted by Zhu and his family. Zhu showed us our room which was incredibly clean, very spacious and had a beautiful view. Once we were settled in, Zhu invited us to have tea with him where we experienced a beautiful tea ceremony. The tea was delicious, naturally sweet and extra special because it was from their very own tea farm. While we had tea, Zhu also shared information with us about the general area and the nearby hikes as well as the best routes for our trip to Alishan park, which is only a 40 minute drive. His daughter then joined us and she was just as sweet. We shared a beautiful and memorable afternoon, having conversation via a translation app. Their hospitality and kindness is what made our stay feel like home. They truly care about their guests and it shows! Breakfast is traditional and delicious and served at the time of your liking which is really nice in case you’re an early riser and decide to explore the area. Overall, such a comfortable stay and would have loved to stay for more than a day to really soak in the tranquility of the tea farm.
Note: They sell the tea! Highly recommend purchasing some if it’s available!

Our hard-working host is warm-hearted and multi-talented. I'll leave the details for you to discover. Our family of 10 had a lively chat with him in the evening over the best mangoes we've ever had. The rooms are spacious, clean, and comfortable. On our floor, one room had it's own bathroom and the other two rooms shared a bathroom in the hallway. There was a huge spread for breakfast and we left feeling well-rested and ready for the next adventure.

Homestay was in the middle of a lush tea farm as you can see from an aerial photo which I have attached to this review.
Entrance to the tea trails was just next to the homestay which was very convenient.
Room was very spacious and clean. Bed has heater which kept us warm in bed.
Host was very accommodating and fetched us to/from various places in Shuzhuo.
Host served us different homecooked breakfast spread for the 2 days we stayed there.
Highly recommended.
The host, Mr Xu, and his family were very friendly.
Mr Xu gave us a welcome tea session and an introduction to all the hiking trails near the homestay on our first day of arrival.
The family also went out of their way to give us free rides to the nearby locations such as Fengqihu, locations to watch sunrise & sunset. We appreciate this gesture very much as we did not drive.
During our stay, the host prepared a day of complimentary dinner for us, which was very delicious.
The location of Green Incense is out of this world! Surrounded by tea plantations with views of distant mountains. I spent 4 nights here and had blue sun, misty mornings and night rain. Trails head out direct from homestay. The family are very caring and will pick you up and drop you off on arrival and departure. Also to nearby restaurants. 4 generations live here and they embody the friendliness and hospitality of the Taiwanese people. Comfy bed with electric blanket! Varied vegetarian breakfasts for me! Just go there!
Mr Xu is very friendly and responds promptly even prior to our stay. He gave us a ride to his homestay from the bus stop at Shizhuo and even brought us to see fireflies at night. He also went the extra mile to drop my and my elderly parents at the start of the Sunset Trail for a beautiful walk.
His homestay is right next to the start of the Mist Trail and very convenient to go for treks around the area.
The homestay is at the middle of tea plantation and very near to misty trekking trail. The nature is very beautiful. The owner is very helpful and drive us to dinner to nearby restaurant. He even prepared breakfast for us. We enjoyed it!!
