Homestays in Ban Ao Yai

This was such a beautiful homestay. Everything about this place was incredible. The huts are lovely, very clean, hot showers, air con, water and coffee every day was a lovely touch. The free kayak to the beach was really fun instead of walking. The surroundings are so peaceful, the pictures don't do it justice. The family are very welcoming and kind. The breakfast was amazing every morning. We stayed two weeks and I actually was upset leaving in the taxi as I knew how much my young children loved this place so much.

Such a gem of a small hotel, located in a thai fishing village where everybody knows each other. Beatifully decorated with lots of attention to detail and lots of greenery, all built with wood, which gave us a feel of authentic thai craftsmanship. Deng was very accomodating and helpful, and generally such a lovely lady. Thank you so much, kop khun kraap🇹🇭🫶🏽

A pleasant stay, the room was clean and spacious at this family run homestay. The room no longer has a tv, though we didn’t plan to use it anyway. It’s approx 15 min walk to the beach, motorcycles available for rent also. We enjoyed the cooked breakfasts at the onsite restaurant, which also serves dinner. Handy convenience shop for drinks and snacks.

That was our next stay in Dara Homestay. No words, excellent accomodation for families. See you next year

Lovely room, lovely hosts - even gave us a rose and little chocolates on Valentines Day! They have pet tortoises which are very cool. The host sorted a motorbike in 2 mins on arrrival. New water every day.

Very nice place, located on the way to Siam Beach Bangbao. Big rooms with comfortable beds and big bathroom. Everything is new and clean. Very good place to stay.

Nice big room and cleaned every other day with fresh sheets and towels. Breakfast is provided, just be sure to tell the host if you don’t eat meat, they can provide different options. Very lovely, quiet family, they don’t really speak English so you kind of just do your own thing there. Location is peaceful, and a lovely coffee shop across the road and close by to a wonderful beach. They can provide motor bikes for you to rent. Overall a pleasant stay.

It was a very quiet and relaxing place. Good for longer stays

The Lodge is not a classical beach resort, but rather a neat little bungalow site in a quiet setting while still being very close to one of Kood's wonderful beaches. Don't be irritated by them not having a regular reception. Wat, the Thai owner, who speaks perfect English, is around most hours during the day and can be called if anything arises. For me, he was a great support during my stay, super friendly and helpful with my special requests. He is extremely service-minded and a genuinely nice guy. Also, Nui, the main staff at the time of my stay, was very sweet and forthcoming. She will help with the overnight laundry service of the resort and any housekeeping issues. The rooms are spacious and very well-kept. There was a big fridge and a water heater with a choice of coffee and green tea in the room. They provided daily drinking water and nice big beach towels. Since I had to work quite a few hours on the computer, I enjoyed the little corner in my room with a table type board and a comfy chair. Wifi was of good quality. The area around the resort is a big green lawn with a few trees. Amazingly, and for me, super important, there were near to no mosquitoes around (January). That's worth mentioning since there are no mosquito screens in the windows of the rooms. There is no restaurant or breakfast onsite. But the beach with all its bars and restaurants as well as some roadside cafés up the road are in easy walking distance. I had my breakfast at Yaks' Café, which hands down has the best grilled sandwiches ever! Important to mention: The Lodge offers great motorbikes for rent (300 Baht per day). Brakes and lights and all in excellent condition. Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and want to thank Wat and Nui once again for their kindness and welcoming service.
