Everything..We booked the hotel so we could be able to travel to Valencia de Alcántara, Spain (my mom's hometown) which was having it's annual Festivity and Fairs.
The hotel was just perfect. 12 kms away, In a very tranquile town, with everything we needed to have a relaxing few days.
I will highly recommend it.
And next year we will definitely book there again!!

Amazing 1926? building and stay at a now inactive building that is part of the closed Train Station next door. It looks like the Train Station but the ground floor has a large room with a fireplace that was used as a cafeteria eating area. No trains run on the railroad tracks and the location is very quiet day or night. The old kitchen where you make your own breakfast with owner-supplied bread, eggs, etc. has a fantastic original cast-iron range stove and huge marble sink. The entire ground floor is original. The second floor has upgraded bedrooms and bathrooms. Great exterior like Train Station with original Portuguese hand painted blue/white tiles. Hotel-recommended, nearby restaurants are excellent. The man and his sister who manage the hotel are friendly and very helpful. They are great hosts.
Located in the heart of São Mamede Natural Park, Quinta da Dourada offers a peaceful retreat for nature lovers.

A charming rural getaway in the Alentejo countryside. I got a low season deal for a night in a suite within the main building and really enjoyed the unique ambiance of the space with its whitewashed walls, wooden beams, and exposed stonework. The kitchenette was perfect for cooking a small meal, and the cold breakfast included a good variety of items.

Great hosts and beautifully decorated place - we couldn't ask for a better place. Breakfast was also nice and homey.
Such unique experience in Marvao, high recommend!
Great host, made sure we had all we needed and that we're confortable.
The property couldn't be better placed; the balcony with views over the valley are a most see and perfect place to end the day relaxing.
What a gem! We loved the little apartment. We walked down to Escusa and had a beer, met some locals, they showed us inside the lovely little church. Marvao hillside town and castle are close by, we had lunch up there. Stunning scenery. We would have love to spend longer here.
