An isolated village where you can find peace and views of the Himalayas with cobbled paths, flowers, fruit trees, goats and where they even produce their own delicious honey.
The few inhabitants of the village are very friendly and respectful.
We stayed there with our 3 year old daughter and 1 year old son and they took care of us with everything we needed and even the kids were able to help with easy and fun day to day tasks.
The houses you stay in are a gem and restored and decorated with great taste.
The host is a charming retired Sherpa who makes you feel right at home. The meals are generous and very tasty.
From the main H04 road (Prithvi Highway that connects Kathmandu to Pokhara) you have to detour 25km to Riepe and it is well worth it.
On the way to Pokhara we stayed in Bandipur, but on the way back we were lucky to stay in the small village of Riepe to be able to live with the day-to-day life of a self-sufficient village.
With mountain views, Himchuli Guest House is situated in Bandipur and has a restaurant, a 24-hour front desk, bar, garden, sun terrace and outdoor fireplace.

The guest house/homestay has a good location and honestly the best view of the mountain range, I have seen from Bandipur! The family and staff is very nice and will help you with all you need. The mother also cooked very delicious food and me and my friend got to spend an afternoon with the son, learning more about the village, it's people and culture. A special place!
Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
The view from the room was spectacular, just like in the pictures. Very spacious, clean room. The family were great hosts and very helpful. Bathroom was on a separate floor, but that was fine, as there was also a separate toilet on the same floor as the room. I loved waking up to the sound of the goats! They offer a Tea Tasting experience which was well worth the money. Finest quality teas from Ilam and I learnt a lot about their preparation and history. Would definitely recommend staying here. Jaz from England.
This family run homestay is newly opened, so I wasn't sure what to expect. I need not have had any concerns, as the family were excellent hosts and I learnt a lot about local culture. Fantastic views from the balcony and rooftop terrace. Great location, very near centre, but in a quiet side road. Breakfast was simple but adequate. Clean comfortable room. I also did their Cheese Tasting experience which was very interesting. I wish I could have stayed longer than one night!
What a nice place to stay. It felt like a homestay. The family that runs the guesthouse are lovely and so friendly and trying to give you the best stay. The view from the room/balcony is beautiful.
The room is basic but clean what was perfect for me.
I'll be honest, I was a bit worried about the cleanliness after reading some previous reviews, but my room was genuinely spotlessly clean!
It truly was a homestay as a homestay should be. The host gave me recommendations on where to go and also took me to the silk farm herself. The room was clean and comfortable and the location is absolutely perfect, just right behind the main street with some great views on the hills from the room. The meals (breakfast and dinner) were simple but tasty. This place really exceeded my expectations.
Very friendly homestay in the middle of the town. The location was very good, quiet and with amazing views. The family was really welcoming. We shared meals and had nice talks. The owner literally goes the extra mile to make the guests happy. She took me to visit a near by village Ramkot and to a hindu temple during a festival.
