Travelers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. These simple accommodations are in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
Luis is a great host. Super friendly and the breakfast he made us was really good. The garden is magical, full of fruit trees. I would definitely stay again if in the area.
Short taxi ride from Chichen Itza. You can get a bus opposite the pharmacy.
Restaurants near by. The locals eat main meal early. Great barbecue chicken.
Didn’t use the pool. Watermelon, cake and coffee as much as you want for breakfast. Good cake. Reception staff spoke English. Both friendly. Hot water and good shower.
The setting, in the big garden, feels very much you are in consonance with nature. Luis is a great host, very kind (we had an issue with the petrol, and he seemed ready to come and rescue as, if needed be) and knowledgeable (prior to arrival we followed his suggestion to a previous client and went to the Chiuan cenote and had a great experience). Breakfast, cooked by his wife, is very comprehensive and delicious. It's a perfect location for Chichen Itza (and more, but we were going to Holbox afterwards).
Beautiful casa in a beautiful village. Loved the vibe here. The family who own it are lovely and welcoming. Breakfast was delicious. Felt like homestay / very authentic.
perfect if you want to do Chichen-itzá and the cenotes with minimum effort. I got up at 7:45am, had breakfast and then took a 5 min taxi to get to Chichen-itzá, and was one of the first at the site.
It was one of the most authentic accomodation we had in Mexico. It is basically a home stay, the old lady is very nice. Also the breakfast was really nice. We arrived with the local bus from tulum which was a great decision instead of ADO. We travelled with the local bus to merida too after our stay. It goes through all the small towns instead of the highway which is a great way for sight seeing. And it costs less than half of ADO tickets.
EVERYTHING
- 2 minutes drive to Chichen Itzá
- Staff is super friendly, plus they are locals and give great tips
- Facilities are pretty cool, i.e pool
- The food at the restaurant is pretty good
