We stayed at the sunshine cafe for two nights and had a wonderful time - it ticks all the boxes! It’s in a great location and only a quick 2 minute walk to the most beautiful beach that is so lovely and quiet! The hosts are lovely and go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. We ate breakfast, lunch & dinner here and it was all SO delicious. The food is so fresh and flavoursome(especially the seafood)as well as being great value.
The room was lovely and big with an outdoor kitchen and private terrace area. It was lovely and peaceful and had everything we needed. We enjoyed sitting out on the terrace and enjoying the view of the beautiful garden.
Give this place a go - you won’t regret it!

Everything in this place is perfect. It’s the best place we’ve stayed until now. It’s quiet, the view is amazing and the bed is big and confortable.
We had a car but it may be a bit far without one. The beach where baby turtles get into the water is 10 min walking. Anyhow, we’ve stayed 5 nights and loved it !

The hosts were super helpful and kind. The room was spotless. The breakfasts were totally delicious and varied. We liked having our own shaded patio area with table and chairs.We loved being able to order tea, coffee, drinks and food there. The location is absolutely fabulous, very close to a gorgeous beach, restaurants, main road to catch a locals bus. A very quiet location. The host is also a tuk tuk driver who drives well and offers very reasonable rates. We used him several times. This lovely place is 100% recommended, we loved the very kind family and everything about this glorious place.
Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
Breakfast was exceptional and included, the evening meal was outstanding, order your drinks so they have them in, our preference is bottled Lion beer and ginger beer shandy, refreshing in the heat
I read other peoples reviews and I had to include this homestay in our trip, Hungama doesn't attract the usual tourist but it was quite convenient to Yala and easy to access Bundala national parks.
Our host, Sagara, took an hour out of his day to walk with us which was interesting and informative..
