This is really a gem that sticks out to your standard homestay and guesthouses. I've been in countless in Asia and this was one of the best. The host Dary is amazing. She is friendly, helpful and has a lot of interesting stories to tell. She loves to talk and you can sit with her and her husband in the evening to share stories about how she grew up and about life in this Village.
Rooms are big, Clean, big bathrooms.
All kinds of services available, bus Transport, motorbike and bike rental, dolphin tours.
Cant recommend this enough. If you go to Kratie this is the place.

The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The air-conditioning worked beautifully and the staff downstairs were friendly and accommodating. The hotel is right on the waterfront. We booked a balcony room at the front of the building but actually didn’t need to spend the extra money because the balcony is available for everybody to go on, it is not a personal to the room.
Privada Lodge - Historic Hotel in Kratie provides adults-only accommodation with a garden, a bar and a shared lounge.

The hotel is in the middle of Krati, so you are immersed in Cambodian life and can watch the market and daily life evolve around you. It comes alive at 6.15, so you wake to the sounds of the day starting again (we loved it, but if you are not a morning person, perhaps it's not for you).
The rooms are huge, with large, very comfortable beds and a large bathroom with a powerful shower. Nice smelling shower gel/shampoo provided free is a nice touch, as is the free tea, coffee, and water.
We travelled with 2 disabled young adults, and nothing seemed to faze the staff who were kind and accepting of their quirks.
The rooftop BBQ is probably the best food in Krati as everything is fresh from the market. The rooftop vibe is very pleasant, and you get to enjoy the company of your fellow travellers.
Alex arranged a dolphin tour for us with lunch included, which was delicious.
We got our laundry all up to date, and it was very reasonably priced.
The hotel is full of amazing vintage treasures with a cool, comfortable lounge area and great art. Alex is a warm and chilled out host.
Merci Alex pour une tres agreeable sejour.

Travellers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. This simple accommodation is in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
I enjoyed going on a tour around some of the nearby towns and villages. The homestay is right next to the local market so, while it might be an early start each day, it's great to get up and wander down the little market street.
Also, had the most delicious khmer curry cooked by the host (and myself helping out!).
Lovely family Homestay. The property was clean, comfortable and a great location with a local market right on the doorstep. The hosts cooked a delicious meal (some of if not the best food we’ve had in Cambodia) each night for more than affordable prices. It was nice to sit and eat with the family and other travellers. Our hosts offered help with organising transfers and also offer a local tour which was a really fun day. 10/10 recommend staying here for a local experience. Excellent value.
Tonle Mekong Homestay exceeded our expectations! Sok, the owner, was incredibly kind and made us feel like part of the family. The local tour was fantastic, and Sok even helped us book additional activities like the dolphin tour and our bus for departure. Highly recommend for an authentic experience!
The owner was friendly and helpfull with everything. The best thing was the local tour. I enjoyed and learned new things on this day. I would highly recommend this homestay and go there again.
The homestay is next to a little market at the river side, south of the center of Kratie. The owner is a good cook. I booked a very nice day long tour with the owner. I particulary enjoyed the opposite (to Kratie) side of the Mekong. We hired a boat there to bring us to the nearby small islands. But there are many other things to experience on this tour: Phnom Sambok, dolphin watching, relaxing with the locals at "Mekong rapids", water buffalos, brick and charcoal production,...
Very welcoming family, homestay at its best. Dinner was great and the morning market perfect to buy breakfast or some snacks for the day. The village tour along the Mekong was amazing, you really get to see how people live and work. Highly recommend!
This is a must stay. The best homestay we had in all Cambodia. The owner is very helpful, generous and kind. We enjoyed the countryside, the kids around, learning about the culture, the cute rooms and the good dinner he made for us.
Amazing hospitality.... Really authentic homestay right next to small market and the river.
The locals also love to use their restaurant in the morning for their breakfast and the food is great.
The owner also speaks great English and can help arrange tours and busses for travelling onwards.
All round can't recommend any more highly
