It was lovely up in the hills and easy to find. Get the bus from Shirakawago and enjoy the scenery! The host offered us tea on arrival and showed us around the place. Dinner was offered with vegetarians catered for at 1600 yen each and breakfast for 800 yen each. You make your own bed in the bunks, we went in January and had the whole room to ourselves was super cute and a great place to unwind and slow down during what can be a hectic travel itenrary

Such a wholesome vibe, it felt like a 2nd family. Nina was great and ran some really informative and enjoyable activities at 8pm every night - we made traditional mochi and did origami another night. Really comfortable rooms.

The guest house was nice and clean, the bedroom was pretty cramped so it was a bit of a challege to do the beds but that's okay. The owner was super nice and gave us some advice on sight-seeing and when we said we're going back by night bus he recomended us a well-priced onsen near the station, where we ended up going and it totally saved us from cold wet weather.

The whole experience was wonderful. Staying in this old house was very special. It’s a very peaceful place, with a lovely view of the garden. The interior is spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated. Chiyo, our host, was very kind and welcoming.

Clean, comfortable, and lovely host.
The wonderful host family shared with us aspects of their unique culture. The bedding was also comfortable and snug, and the food was simple and tasty. One of the best minshuku experiences in Japan.
This is a special experience. You get to experience the hospitality of a home stay in a 200 year old thatched roof house. The dinner and breakfast were perfect and our host was congenial and shared his musical instruments with us. The town is lovely....small enough for a one night stay.
beautiful japanese home stay. very clean and organized inside. location was convenient for bus stop and grocery. and the surrounding location is very beautiful.
