Such a great experience. The lodge is located very close to the beach where the boat drops you off. The rooms are very comfy and have AC. Be prepared for a bucket shower!
Dion is very friendly and helpful, the diving is very good value and the crew are kind and very good at their jobs.
The best part for us was the food!! All three meals are included and the home cooking is really incredible and delicious, they should.open a restaurant! We miss it already

The location. Frangky, his wife and Eda made the stay comfortable. The food was excellent (I really miss the fish) and everyone was very kind. There is usually chicken or fish but you can request vegetarian/vegan options. The beds were comfortable and the mosquito nets worked well (though I didn't notice many mosquitos). The location is excellent as snorkeling by the nearby beaches is great. You can see turtles basically every time you go. The nights are quiet and you can sleep with just a fan. If you need AC that is available as well.
Frangky also offers trips and the dolphin trip was a good choice.
Istanaku is located in the center of Manado, a 10-minute drive from the Mega Mall and the Manado Town Square. IT offers a restaurant, free parking on site and free Wi-Fi in public areas.

Travelers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. These simple accommodations are in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
The best homestay ever. Planned for three nights stayed for two weeks. Sweet home with my caring Novita mama and funny Butul papa and Oma and Opa. Comfortable and clean room with stable electricity (luxury), best cooking in Bunaken(Novita would prepare fish for guests like me but Tofu for vegans and nuggets for children and change menu almost everyday. You can also easily book dive/ snorkeling or trips from here with reasonable price.
Definitely come back again!
We spent five nights at El Homestay as a group of four friends. Before arriving in Bunaken, I thought it would be too much time there, but once we arrived at El Homestay, we didn't want to leave.... It has been amazing staying here and experiencing Bunaken. There is a lot to do: snorkeling, diving, dolphins, sandbank, mangroves, visiting Siladen Island, hiking, renting a motorbike, and visiting the viewpoint. We can't wait to be back next year. This was without a doubt the best homestay we have experienced in two years of traveling through Asia. Stefen has been an incredible help with everything we needed and organized for us one of the best tours of our lives: the dolphins, Nain Island sandbank, and Siladen snorkeling tour. It's been two weeks since we left his homestay, and we still think daily of our time there. We would love to go back as soon as possible. The food was delicious and very healthy.
Very convenient location, good dive guides and comfortable bed. Most importantly the food is absolutely amazing! The best we've had in any homestay in Indonesia. Always fresh, plentiful and delicious. They catered to our dietary preferences, too.

Very comfortable homestay and a nice open common area with free tea and coffee. The food was amazing and always so much of it! We also had a tour booked one afternoon meaning we would miss lunch but the guys held some back for us to eat when we got back. Location is really nice as it backs on to the beach. If you take a snorkel and swim 50 metres out until the coral drops off then you'll see dozens of turtles!
