Maybe I just had a bad experience because my stay was not very pleasant. Unfortunately the good things about my review will be minimal, but I want to give an accurate depiction of the property as of 9 Aug 2023. The host was very nice and welcomed me upon my delayed arrival. I was in unit B for 4 days and the view from the terrace was very nice. It is in a quiet location and not too far from the downtown area.
Altare - Breezy with a View is located in Grand Anse, just a 18-minute walk from Grand Anse Beach and 1.4 miles from Lance Aux Epines Beach.

Very friendly, welcoming and helpful local family. The airport pick up and drop off is very useful. The views are great and the house is very clean. You can walk to the beach and supermarket.

Cabier is a hidden gem with comfortable accommodation, friendly staff, and a great beach. Abi is an excellent cook and the food she prepared was always delicious and exceptional. I enjoyed the secluded and quiet location with a beach access and I couldn't recommend Cabier enough. Just a perfect place for a relaxing and stress-free vacation. I can't wait to be back!! Travelers on a budget looking to experience a place like a local will enjoy homestays. These simple accommodations are in a private home, where the host also lives. All facilities are shared and in most cases breakfast is included.
Marian and Leo are great hosts. Marian is very sweet and helpful in every way. Leo makes a terrific breakfast each morning from the locally sourced fruits and vegetables. The only downside is that the road to the BnB is so steep that it is not possible to walk it each day, however Leo will provide a ride down to the beach or the local bus stop on the main road into town,
The view was stunning (unless you don't like airports) I chose this purely for distance of the walk to the airport(15 - 20 mins downhill) as I was leaving early morning and didn't want to use a taxi. A few tiny traditional bars close by with friendly locals (who took the time to teach me domino's!) The owner was friendly and welcoming which isn't always guaranteed in the Caribbean!
