The Ramblers' Rest - Princetown, hotel in Okehampton

Boasting a spa and wellness centre and views of quiet street, The Ramblers' Rest - Princetown is a guest house situated in a historic building in Princetown, 37 km from Newton Abbot Racecourse.

Nikki & Terry were very welcoming from arrival, even bringing milk to our room. The facilities in room were great: Oven, 2x Hob, microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher. Also included were a full separate bathroom with bath / shower and spacious beds including smart TV and good WiFi. There is also an outdoor kitchen, pizza oven, covered seating area and a hot tub. The location itself is on Dartmoor, in very idilic surroundings but only a couple of miles of the beaten track. Plymouth is close enough for any city based requirements, Cornwall is only 40 minutes away and most areas in Devon are reachable within the hour. We couldn’t have asked for a more central location for family days out in Looe and Splahdown water park in Paignton. We will be staying again. There is even a selection of board games and reading material to use.

We were welcomed warmly on arrival. Our room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. I requested decaf tea at breakfast and returned to find decaf teabags in our room. Very thoughtful! The breakfast was beautifully cooked and substantial. Thank you for a great stay.

Quiet location just what I needed after a day on the road but close to A30 to get away in the morning. Evening meal and breakfast couldn't fault, and Natasha was a great host at the hotel

Natasha & Colin were great hosts. B&B is new and very clean. Great shower. Fresh milk as opposed to the long life sachets for tea & coffee in room. Great breakfast. Small village but food available at B&B or nearby village. There are stairs to negotiate with the bags (manageable) Don’t trust your GPS - look for the sign We enjoyed our one night stay

didn't have to pay for WiFi. The access to walks on Dartmoor were exellent, especially Lydford Gorge. The room was prepared by the time we arrived and was super clean. Breakfast was really delicious and plentiful. What sold it for us is its super pet friendly (except the breakfast room which is fair) and Maya our border collie loved staying there, plenty of garden to run around. Jakes and Jane were lovely hosts, thank you both ❤️
