Avenue House, hotel in Bakewell

Avenue House is located in Bakewell, within 2.4 km of Haddon Hall and 3.3 km of Chatsworth House. Built in 1900, the property is within 2.8 km of Ashford Castle. Free WiFi is available.

Avenue House is a great place to stay close to Bakewell Centre (couple minutes walk). Parking was simple and check in instructions were clear, allowing for ease from the get go. Sarah was great at communicating with us throughout, left personalised messages and her phone number in case we needed anything. She was actually there to greet us on arrival which was nice, and we had a lovely chat the following morning during breakfast - which was done to perfection! A fantastic selection of continental offerings, full English and refills of tea, toast and juices. Thanks Sarah! We stayed in room 2 on the first floor and I would imagine if you have mobility issues you might struggle up the stairs but it was great for our needs, it was spotlessly clean, nice modern bathroom, and comfy bed. We would definitely recommend this place and would absolutely stay again!

Beautiful location for visiting the Peak District. Close to the Monsal Track, Chatsworth, Haddon Hall and Bakewell. Pretty, quiet little village with friendly locals and some good pubs nearby (Packhorse Inn is definitely worth the walk). Property was well equipped and comfortable - it felt like home! We had a small issue with the heating when we arrived, but Sykes (hosts) were very responsive, and we managed to solve the problem (it was simply a loose battery on the controller!).
