Before we arrived our host Wang, who speaks very good English, made sure, we had the right direction and made it very easy for us to come to the centre where she picked us up and insisted on helping with the luggage. The homestay is tucked away on the slopes of the city, but it is just a short climb and we (in our 70s) didn’t have any problems with it. As a reward the view from the room window is stunning. The rooms themselves are very clean and airy and little garden areas create a great atmosphere.
The homestay is in easy walking distance to the main attractions of the city and again Wang made sure, we would find our way and also find good local restaurants.
We loved to talk to her and thoroughly enjoyed or stay and regret that we had not booked a longer stay.

It was very clean, comfortable and the location is perfect. Close to everything and quiet. The host was very good and showed us around, explaining about the history of the city. A pity he could not speak English!

The owner Veronica was incredible sweet! Prior to arriving she was sending relevant information to make sure that I would be set up for success. She welcomed me into her hotel like an old friend. Her genuine interest, willingness to help and kindness was so heartwarming. Her English was near perfection so it was very easy to connect, ask questions and get tips. Thanks to her recommendations (and contacting locals) I knew where to eat, what show to visit, what tour to join, what sights to see. This made my stay so much more special and memorable. I would recommend anyone to stay here who is looking for a comfortable hub away from all the busy crowds yet within steps from the main river. Bonus point for the adorable 14yr old Golden Retriever just lounging around :)

The hotel is not difficult to locate. When you arrive at Fenghuanggucheng train station, there will be a lot of drivers offering to send you to your hotel. Most of them know this B&B. The location is 10 mins drive from the train station, just outside the scenic area, across a road. The lady (not sure if she's the owner) is very friendly and shared a lot of stories and history about the ancient town. She provided a tray of snacks at check in and recommended a route how can we get most of Fenghuang in a day. The hotel balcony has a good view of the pagoda and the whole view of Fenghuang. Hotel room is big and clean, and has very comfortable beds. The B&B does not provide breakfast due to some laws on cooking and risk of fire as the houses in Fenghuang are mostly made of wood. We checked out early next day and the lady said we can simply leave the room card at the reception counter.

Exceptionally great support from the owner who provided me with detailed information on arrival. After I got out of the taxi, he was waiting for me at the Nanhua gate with an umbrella and helped me carry my luggage to a nearby accommodation. Friendly atmosphere of family accommodation, but with hotel comforts. The owner arranged a ticket for a boat ride, recommended where to go for good and cheap food, where the locals go. Great views, close to the center, but in a quiet area. I highly recommend it.

Wang's kind hospitality. She went out of her way to be helpful in every way possible. The homestay is situated at a point on a hill that overlooks the town of Fenghuang, so, aside from the amazing views, the air is clean and fresh.
The homestay is located in Fenhuanggucheng, near the Nanhuali sightseeing bus terminal. The host of the homestay will meet you at the bus terminal to bring you to the homestay (10 mins walk). She will brief you on the route and places to see, timing with a big map.
This is a nice accommodation that suited our needs perfectly. A quant little boutique homestay with nice tatami beds and great views of the ancient city both during the day and a magnificent views at night. The operator was very helpful and gave us very good tips on touring the city.
