The views are simply incredible and you get to wake up to birds singing. We stayed at the Marco house and it was very comfortable. D. Zilda was always willing to help, and the town of Penalva do Castelo was just a dream. Check out restaurants Recordo and Pizzeria da Lameira—great food!

We got a super unique and new experience staying here at this home. It felt like a home from a fairytale. The house was adorable and although it seemed quite old, it was extremely clean and obvious that it had been very well taken care of. The weather got kind of cold and we were able to use the heaters which worked very well. Our host was extremely kind and made sure we had everything to be comfortable. In the morning we even got fresh bread and we were provided some small food items when we arrived.

We arrived early in the evening and asked Miguel for a recommendation for a restaurant. He led us in his car (we followed in our car) right to a restaurant, then he went in and spoke to the people there (they didn't speak a lot of English) to let them know what we were looking for. This was SO HELPFUL! We never would have found a restaurant that night. Thank you Miguel! We had a great dinner.
