Built in traditional Torajan style, Rura Raya Homestay is situated in Rantepao. The rooms here offers modern comforts and while maintaining the traditional decor. Amazing place, the room was perfect and the food the best we had in Sulawesi. Best place for visiting Tanah Toraja, very calm because it's a bit outside of the city center but if you drive a scooter or if you have a guide with a car it's perfect and very easy to reach. Highly recommended!

Located in Bunaken, 3WILL Bunaken Dive Resort is only a short distance from beautiful snorkelling and diving spots. It boasts a diving centre, massage services and a tour desk. We stayed at 3Will for 5 nights and absolutely loved it! The staff are super friendly and both the accommodation and location are amazing. The food was varied daily, which meant we never had to eat the same thing twice and was really tasty. A real community vibe within the resort and we particularly enjoyed sitting on the beach with the Bunaken band, having a sing-song and sharing a few shots of a locally produced arrack. We did scuba diving for 3 days and snorkelling for one day. The dive sites are some of the best you can hope to see! The boat crew are very accommodating and the dive guides are really helpful and friendly. The groups are really small, which made the experience feel very personal and also helped us feel safe and comfortable. It was our first diving in 6 months and the team put a guide in the water specifically for us on the first day so that we could reacclimatise at our own pace. Diving felt super safe, there was always a briefing beforehand, safety stops at the correct depth and for the right amount of time and guides never attempted to take us beyond our limits. We absolutely loved our time and can't wait to find a way back there again!

Located right on Bara Beach in Bira, Cosmos Bungalows offers a beautifully simple beachfront accommodation where each bungalow has sea view. Free on-site parking space for guests who drive. Very nice bungalow with a beautiful view on the sea. The room is clean with a nice bed. The balcony is very enjoyable, with a hammock and a bench. The bathroom is big with good equipment. Restaurant has an amazing view, and dinner is delicious for very reasonable prices (beers are a bit expensive though), with many choices of fish and meat. Breakfast is good as well. Wooden stairs make it possible to « jump » to the water directly from the restaurant (it looks like there has been a beach at some point; but now you go inside water directly) and go swim and snorkel. The staff is nice and helps with transportation. Note that there is a 25 minutes walk to reach the city center (if you need laundry for instance). But you can find water and small food around the hotel.

Mangga Lodge offers tropical getaway just across Bara Beach. Nestled with lush greenery, this beachfront property houses a restaurant and air-conditioned rooms with a private terrace or balcony. Nice location close to the beach. Nice food.

Located on Bunaken Island along the Pangalisan Beach, Cakalang Resort offers diving and snorkeling opportunities on-site. It has a restaurant and a 24-hour front desk. We had a great time at cakalang with Fernando and his wife being extremely accomodating. Debbie the receptionist/cook was amazing and made the best food we have had in Indonesia. Great diving experience with the team here also. Can’t wait to return some time soon!

Set on a mountain with views of natural scenery, Gardenia Country Inn is a 10-minute drive from Tomohon Traditional Market. Stunning natural setting. Great view from our cottage. Lovely and very well maintained grounds. Great restaurant and super friendly and attentive staff. Highly recommended for staying in tomohon.
