Located in Pointe-Noire, 2.4 km from Marigot Beach, Le Bougainvillier Blanc features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking, a garden and a tennis court. We spent a delightful 6 days at La Bougainvillier Blanc in late January. We have poor French-language skills but we managed quite well, aided by a translation app on our phone (you need lots of data - 50 MB). We deliberately didn’t rent a car - that worked because we like walking. If that’s not your preference, you’ll have an easier time with a rental. Our favourite places were the larger local beach, Plage Caraibe, (great snorkelling at the north end) which was about 5 km away, and the Chute de Acomet, a beautiful little waterfall with lots of little pools downstream, which was 7.5 km away. That made for some long walks with some significant hills. Fortunately, there is also a local transport system available which made it easy to get to the other nearby beach (Plage de Petite Anse). Hitch-hiking is considered normal. Good local maps are free at the tourist office. Our gracious host Lucien has a wonderful little swimming pool at the guesthouse, so an end-of-day swim was part of our routine. The trickiest part for us was dinner – we tried to get back to La Bougainvillier Blanc by sunset to avoid walking in the dark, but most restaurants only opened later. We worked around this by eating a large late lunch (good choices at the beaches), eating at the one restaurant that opened at 17:00 (An Ba Tol La), or else making our own dinner in our well-equipped kitchen. If you have a car, there are at least 3 good restaurants close by. Pointe-Noire is not a tourist town so most shops close in the afternoon. Some useful shops that are open most of the day are along the main road (N2) – there are two pharmacies in the centre of town, and a large grocery ((Carrefour Express) and a good bakery/coffee shop on the southern half of town. We weren’t looking for a lot of tourist activities – just a quiet, peaceful time with low-key, interesting things to do each day. La Bougainvillier Blanc and Pointe-Noire were perfect for that.

Located in Camuy in the North Puerto Rico region, Neymar Beach House features a balcony. 29 km from Arecibo Observatory and 20 km from Rio Camuy Cave Park, the property provides a garden and a... Everything was neat and clean. Very detail-oriented and comfortable space. Host was very attentive and responsive.

Set in Willemstad, 6.1 km from Curacao Sea Aquarium and 8.4 km from Queen Emma Bridge, Malvales Resort offers an outdoor swimming pool and air conditioning. This resort is well appointed, comfortable, has a lovely pool and you can rent a car for a very reasonable price and no hassle. The hosts are nice and professional. At one point the freezer went on the fritz and within an hour it was replaced with a brand new one. Each unit has a private terrace, the bed was comfy and the water is hot. The kitchen has what you need to prepare meals, and there is a washer in the unit.

Offering a year-round outdoor pool and views of the sea, Le Domharry is situated in Anse Bertrand Chapelle just 500 metres from the beach. Le Gosier is 29 km away. The host takes great pride in ensuring that his guests are comfortable and enjoy their stay. Definitely recommend this location.

Esprit Caraibe is located in the calm tropical forest of Saint-François, just 2.4 km from the beach. Free WiFi access is available in this holiday home. Awesome place, great location in the middle of a jungle like feeling garden. And Valerie & Vincent are adorable host

Las Puertas del Paraíso is a property located only 7 minutes’ drive from Playa Río San Juan Beach. The grounds are beautiful and peaceful, it was very relaxing. The hosts are very helpful and accommodating. We enjoyed conversing with them. The food was fresh and delicious including the dessert ;-)

Yepton Estate Cottages is set in extensive tropical gardens next to a salt lagoon bird sanctuary. It offers self-catering accommodation around an outdoor pool. There is free Wi-Fi and free parking. The owners were extremely hospitable, helped us with our luggage, transportation and dinner recommendations. We had a great time!

Close to Combate Beach, MAVS COMBATE BEACH CLUB is situated in Cabo Rojo and has a public bath and garden. Great area y businesses, the price was right.

Gîtes de Checheti is situated in Trois-Rivières. This holiday park features free private parking and private check-in and check-out. 1. The location was superb. It was completely quiet and provided panoramic views over the ocean from the terrace. 2. The cottage was sensitively built -compact, but with all we needed. 3. The hostess and owner were friendly and very helpful -it was a pleasure to meet them both. 4. We were on a walking holiday and access to the southern half of the island was good from here. 5. It was extremely hot during our stay. The lovely swimming pool and terrace were much appreciated. 6. Exploring the plants and seeing the birds in the compact but varied garden was a pleasure. 7. This was our best accommodation during our 4 weeks on the island.
