This is quite simply one of the most fantastic places I have ever stayed. Harold House has been restored to immaculate condition. When we arrived, we spent ages simply wandering around marvelling at these gorgeous, well-appointed rooms and all the fascinating heritage features and items. The location is very convenient in Reefton township, but also quiet. If you are visiting the West Coast, I highly recommend staying here; we wished we had booked longer—in terms of accommodation, it was the best of our entire road trip around the South Island.

Paparoa Beach Hideaway with Hot Tub features garden views, free WiFi and free private parking, set in Barrytown. This property offers two separate holiday houses. As a family of 4, we had a fantastic time. Especially loved the hot tub, the fire pit and the pétanque area. The accommodation was spacious and super clean & comfortable. Great facilities.

Situated in Barrytown and only 13 km from Punakaiki Scenic Attraction, Forest Edge features accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. Reda's place was incredibly charming, filled with personal touches. Reda had lit the fire for us before we arrived so it was toasty and homely after a long drive. It had all the amenities you could need and it was great to see how sustainable everything was. It was one of our favourite spots in our trip, definitely recommend it!

Set in Otira and only 17 km from Devils Punchbowl Falls, Rustic, Basic Cosy Alpine Hut, in the middle of the Mountains offers accommodation with mountain views, free WiFi and free private parking. Beautifully quiet, blissfully basic hut exactly as described. Warm comfy bed, all kitchen items, clean basic hot shower and toilet just outside. Fab little log burner with logs supplied warmed the cabin beautifully. Stunningly clear night skys, well worth popping outside to look at the stars of its clear! Even the train going past was nowhere near so noisy as I had expected. Perfect minimalist escape.
