Located in Tanabe in the Wakayama region, Private house Kumanoyasai BASE features a balcony and mountain views. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. This is a beautiful small cabin, set in rice fields. It was very comfortable and only a short walk from a good sized supermarket. It had everything you need to cook and have a nice meal. We were walking the Kumano Kodo, so this was a good place to stop for the night. We would have liked to stay longer, because it was a very relaxing place.

Guesthouse Okagesan is a holiday home situated in Hongu, Wakayama. There are 2 Japanese-style rooms, a living room, kitchen, bathroom and toilet in the property. Manabu, the host was absolutely brilliant! A kind and welcoming guy he made us all feel very welcome and looked after. The property itself has a really feeling of a traditional Japanese house but with all the comforts- air conditioning, fridge, washing machine etc. Manabu’s restaurant just a minute away is delicious and the rice balls for breakfast he made each day for us was so generous . Can’t recommend this place enough .

Lovely house which looks even nicer than he pictures with a lovely garden in front which in summer are full of flowering potted plants. The free car parking lot is right in front of the house. Inside was very roomy and nicely furnished, just like home. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking with microwave, toaster and stove with all the cutlery and crockery you need. There was a sitting room, a separate sitting area looking into the front garden and 2 tatami rooms which can sleep 4 people very comfortably. Toilet and separate bath / shower room. Location is a bit far from the main town area but has a nice residential feel. There is also a beach right across the road which is popular with surfers. The owners were kind and helpful. The recommended restaurant for a simple dinner nearby (Mogu-Mogu) was exceptionally good value. Highly recommend this place for families and anyone who likes to feel at home whilst on holiday.
