Located in Tanabe in the Wakayama region, Private house Kumanoyasai BASE features a balcony and mountain views. This property offers access to a terrace and free private parking. This is a beautiful small cabin, set in rice fields. It was very comfortable and only a short walk from a good sized supermarket. It had everything you need to cook and have a nice meal. We were walking the Kumano Kodo, so this was a good place to stop for the night. We would have liked to stay longer, because it was a very relaxing place.

Owner was very friendly, went out of his way to make sure we had a good stay. Guesthouse was perfect after a long day of hiking, his food at the restaurant was just what we needed!

Inside was very roomy and nicely furnished, just like home. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking with microwave, toaster and stove with all the cutlery and crockery you need. There was a sitting room, a separate sitting area looking into the front garden and 2 tatami rooms which can sleep 4 people very comfortably. Toilet and separate bath / shower room. Location is a bit far from the main town area but has a nice residential feel. There is also a beach right across the road which is popular with surfers. The owners were kind and helpful. The recommended restaurant for a simple dinner nearby (Mogu-Mogu) was exceptionally good value. Highly recommend this place for families and anyone who likes to feel at home whilst on holiday.
