The winner is the garden though, it is absolutely beautiful and such a nice place to relax and spot monkeys and other wildlife. It is about a 3.5km walk to the cloud forest and although it’s a bit out of Santa Elena there are nice restaurants and bakeries next door. There is also a big kitchen that is well stocked with cooking equipment etc. The hosts also provide you with a coffee maker in your room and coffee each day. It’s a really fantastic place to stay.

The cabin was very spacious and clean, no issues with water or any other commodities. We had a couple of rainy nights which were superb to listen to under the cabin roof. All cabin commodities were great, including the tasty courtesy coffee.
