The apartment is new, very well furnished and extremely comfortable, even more than you can expect. Perfect cleaning. The location is astonishing. The house is surrounded by a very nice, large and well-kept garden, visited by many birds and mammals. The beach is more or less 150 meters from the house and is a postcard place: kilometers of sand with palm trees, no people around. The place is also a perfect starting point to explore the nearby Corcovado National Park and for whale watching tours. The hosts Karin and Nony really went out of their way to help us preparing our travel, with really a lot of info and useful tips. Unfortunately Nony was not present in the very days of our visit so we missed the tours with him and couldn’t enjoy his knowledge of the ecosystems and of the area. However Karin was always attentive and helpful, a really perfect host. She also shared the fruits of the garden with us and transmitted us her enthusiasm for living there, surrounded by such a luxuriant nature. A beautiful experience, both naturalistically and humanly.

The location of this property near the center of Puerto Jiminez and on the ocean with a view of the sea and the boats was perfect. Coffee on the porch with the fresh air was so relaxing. Accommodations were comfortable and spotless, with everything we needed to enjoy our stay. We booked last minute but I would book again in a heartbeat. The owners were very nice and greeted us promptly upon our arrival to answer any questions and explain the layout. The property is adjacent to a business for kayak rentals, which we did not use this time but have in the past, and that would be very convenient for travelers visiting who also want a kayak adventure. We were a couple, but the accommodations would be sufficient for a small family or group.

Secluded yet safe in the jungle, this perfectly appointed house has all the amenities- comfortable beds, mosquito nets, great lounging areas and then.. the best of all.. a gorgeous pool where we saw monkeys playing overhead, not to mention the macaws and toucans. From the river side lookout deck we could watch the gold miners on their morning trek up the river searching for treasure. The grounds are beautiful with pineapple, avocado, lime and banana trees. Val and Ron are amazing hosts who made sure the Yeti cooler had blocks of ice to keep our food cold. Coming from the city it was incredible to realize how easy it is to live off the grid. The solar panels provided enough power to charge our phones and have light in the evening. We had amazing adventures walking to the nearby waterfall, walking up the river and exploring the Bolita trails. There are a couple of very cute and harmless bats in the guest bedroom who left each evening before we went to bed, returning home in the morning. The windows have no screens or glass so you really feel you are living in the jungle but there was a surprising lack of biting insects. This really is the perfect place to immerse yourself in the jungle- the best high end “glamping” I have ever experienced.
