The reception staff were very nice, and the outdoor bath and tea ceremony presentation were excellent. The location is in downtown, but a little bit away from the tourist areas, which we liked because it gives a more authentic vibe of living in Kyoto.

It’s in a very quiet location, with convenience stores near by. Plenty of room for a family and great amenities like stove top, washing machine and kettle.
To be honest the bathroom was my favourite part. The bath was just incredibly comfortable so go buy some bath salts before you arrive!

My first stay in Kyoto was near sumizome and I had a lovely time with my family there but walking around Higashiyama made me book this machiya this time around with friends...greatest decision ever! A walk away from temples and nice coffee shops and the Ghibli store. At night, a safe cool longer walk to Gion for Izakayas!

If there is one hotel you want to stay in, this is the one.
Absolutely one of the best hotels we have stayed in. For two people there was so much space. The rooms were all so beautiful. It had a full kitchen and laundry and that bath tub *chefs kiss*
Everything was thought out so nicely. The location was a moments walk to the Fushimi Inari shrine and a konbini.
