There are 4 cottages in a row in a beautiful location in the middle of nowhere with a view of the lake. The owners are wonderful and helpful, at the end of our stay we even got a gift for our baby, who is still in the tummy, it felt like we were leaving the family :) they have cute dogs who love to cuddle and are friendly.The cottage is fully equipped, has a working sauna and fireplace. The kitchen has an air fryer, coffee machine, kettle and hob with two hotplates and is fully equipped.The cottage also has a TV, but we absolutely did not use it, the view from the terrace is absolutely sufficient and stunning, in the evening the crackling fire in the fireplace is better than the TV. The only thing the accommodation missing and you have to pay 15EUR per person is bed linen. At the lake there is a small pier, there is also a BBQ that is equipped and you can use it and also boats. If you have a car you can go on hikes/day trips to the nearby national park Oulanka or Riisitunturi. On the way to Oulanka park there is also a store about 16min from the accommodation or 20min in the "town" of Ruka. If you are looking for peace and quiet, where you will only be disturbed by the occasional motor boat on the lake or a reindeer grazing in front of your terrace, this is the ideal place! Highly recommended :)

Everything really! The cabin is very spacious and well equipped, the lake feels almost private and the location couldn’t be any better! So idyllic, calm and beautiful.
Less than 100 metres from Lake Salonkilampi, these cottages are 4 km from Ruka Ski Resort. Each features a private sauna and a fully equipped kitchen. Central Kuusamo is 22 km away.

I have stayed in Rukan Salonki cottages before and have always liked it. It is best choice for bigger groups because big cottages have 6 bedrooms each and 14 people can fit comfortably

Small but perfectly formed. Super location with absolutely stunning views from every window. Lovely and warm with electric heaters in all rooms and a fire we didn’t need to use. The toilet has underfloor heating also. The shower is lovely, the sauna amazing to have and the drying rack is perfect. Our luggage didn’t arrive but we were able to wash clothes using the washer and dryer super quick. We sledged straight from our door down to the slopes and there’s a fab bar/restaurant just 3 minutes away. The owner let us check out at 3pm due to our later flight which was really kind.
