Boutique Penzion Slovakia & Slovakia Residence is located centrally in Kosice just 50 metres from St. Alzbeta Cathedral. The property has a steakhouse restaurant, and a terrace for dining. Definitely a great value for the money! Great location, comfortable room and amazing staff - especially Richard who took care of us during the dinner as well as during the breakfast. Food was super delicious for a reasonable price.

Some hiking trails (Hornad canyon, Sucha Bela) are walking distance from the village, for the rest you would need a car as public transport is limited outside summer holidays. Due to some mix up with the booking Peter (the host) arranged for us to stay in an apartment in another part of the village. It was an upgrade as we had a whole very comfy apartment with kitchen to ourselves. Communication with Peter was fast and reliable and the proposed solution more than satisfactory! Tip for visitors: since April 2024 local tourist tax (2 euros per person per night) allows free entry to paid sites in Slovensky Raj and includes insurance for mountain rescue costs.

We went to the festival and stayed at the place instead of sleeping in a tent with the kids. It was convenient - and beautiful place just under the castle. Owner really lovely, helpful, lots of info about the area available. Great garden, outdoors, kids loved it. We really enjoyed it there.
