Catlins Retreat B & B is situated in Owaka. Featuring garden and quiet street views, this guest house also includes free WiFi. The home is warm and welcoming, with many amenities to support a comfortable stay: from extra heaters and blankets to plentiful mugs and dishes for tea or breakfast. The room is also spacious. Finally the host was available and helpful throughout our stay. We could walk to dinner in Owaka, which was an added bonus.

Very friendly people that ran the place, it had lots of personality. Far more enjoyable then a generic hotel

A beautiful, comfortable and cosy studio to explore Wanaka with everything you could need for a short-stay. The host went out of her way to ensure we had what we needed, including an early check-in as my partner had a migraine. Hassle-free parking, a short and enjoyable stroll into town. We would happily stay here again.

Sunny Mornington 2 Bedroom Guest Suite is a beautiful 1930s character home located 5 minutes' drive to the Octagon, the heart of Dunedin city. Location was very nice and beautiful. Quiet neighborhood and helpful guides

Minaret Ridge Retreat in Wanaka boasts accommodation with free bikes and barbecue facilities. The property is around 4.3 km from Puzzling World, 1 km from Lake Wanaka and 18 km from Treble Cone. The whole place was excellent. The location near the beach which the excellent host Jay pointed out to us was an added bonus. We had the privilege of seeing Adele in concert a few years ago. The shower cubicle in the bathroom reminded us of the set she used in the song ‘Set Fire to the Rain’. The song concept makes no sense but the shower was amazing just like at Minaret Ridge!

Featuring a hot tub and BBQ facilities, Altamont Lodge is just 1 km from Lake Wanaka. You can relax by the fireplace in the guest lounge, or enjoy a meal in the communal kitchen and dining area. Loved this property - the owners were so kind and welcoming. They are a machine! Pretty sure it’s just the 2 of them turning over rooms and doing everything! The place is so sparkling clean, kitchen is well stocked with equipment and there’s a lovely garden area to hang out in. The washing machine was huge and we managed to wash all of our clothes in one go for $4 and hang it all outside to dry (they have pegs). We stayed for 4 nights and were sad to say goodbye! The location is a bit out of town but just 15minutes and we enjoyed the walk! Plenty of parking for cars and they even had a hot tub (we just didn’t have time to use it).

Offering a terrace and garden view, The Front Room is situated in Wanaka, 4.4 km from Puzzling World and 3.1 km from The Wanaka Tree. Quiet well kept neighbourhood. Felt safe there. It was a cosy room with very modern furnishings/decor.
