Beautiful, comfortable accommodation for two with a spectacular outlook in a beautiful and quiet location, and amazing hosting, make this one of the best accommodations we've ever enjoyed in NZ. This is a self-contained accommodation unit for two in a quiet location adjoining the host's house. The unit is new, beautifully furnished, well-appointed and very comfortable. The view overlooks Opito Bay from a height, and has a spectacular outlook into the wider Bay of Islands with outside dining and sun loungers. Alan is a generous and very thoughtful host who has created a wonderful guest experience full of detailed touches to make a comfortable, easy stay. There is a toaster, microwave and Weber BBQ, but it's worth noting is that the unit doesn't have full self-catering facilities: it lacks a hob, oven and kitchen sink. But Alan more than makes up for this - he does the washing-up, and provides a beautiful array of breakfast supplies every morning, including plenty of delicious fresh fruit. There's delightful complementary selection of cold drinks in the fridge on arrival, and an assortment of tasty snacks. It's absolutely outstanding! The location in Opito Bay is quiet, about 15 minutes from Kerikeri. There's a small network of beautiful trails through the bush around the end of the peninsula walkable from the unit, with a spectacular view at the lookout and a beautiful sheltered cove for swimming and snorkelling on the north side. The Kerikeri peninsula is a hotspot for kiwi, and we heard one close to the unit one night.

Offering a garden and garden view, Kiwiblue is situated in Kerikeri, 1.3 km from Kemp House and Stone Store and 20 km from Haruru Falls. Great communication from Jenny - easy to find key and let myself in. Facilities are new, clean, freash and inviting. Modern and lovely comfy bed to sleep in. TV is great to relax to, with Netflix etc included. Bathroom is spacious and new, great water pressure. Ranchslider to outide area will be lovely in the summer. Comfy warm sleep after a good movie, coffee and a bickie! (supplied!) WiFi connection is excellent.

The Pacific Room, Tapeka Point, a property with a garden and a terrace, is set in Russell, 200 metres from Tapeka Point Beach, 2.8 km from Long Beach, as well as 1.2 km from Flagstaff Hill. It had everything we needed and Bridget went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable. The bed was big and comfy and the location is quiet. Very close to the beach and a short drive to Russell

Boasting garden views, Fantail River Lodge offers accommodation with balcony, around 20 km from Opua Forest. This guest house features free private parking, free shuttle service and free WiFi. Very professional without compromising a personal touch to our stay.

Paradise on The Strand is set in Russell, 2 km from Tapeka Point Beach, 500 metres from Christ church, and 400 metres from Russell Museum. We loved our stay at Russell and Karen's charming house. The view is breathtaking, and the quaint little town of Russel offers a peaceful atmosphere with plenty of excellent dining options. Karen is an incredible hostess—her breakfasts are delightful, and her beautiful home is truly a gem. We recommend this place to anyone looking for that little extra touch of Paradise. Staying at Paradise on the Strand is an experience not to be missed!

Offering quiet street views, Top of the Bay is an accommodation situated in Paihia, 600 metres from Te Ti Bay Beach and less than 1 km from Paihia Beach. I had a fabulous stay - the studio is a dream and everyone was very friendly and helpful.

Offering a garden and river view, Taranaki is situated in Waihaha, 18 km from Christ church and 19 km from Russell Museum. This property offers access to a balcony and free private parking. Such a beautiful little spot in the middle of nature. If you need to relax, this is the place to be. You don't need a TV when having the view above the delta from your own balcony and bed. The chickens also come and say hi and the next morning you get a beautiful breakfast by Elizabeth with eggs from the happy chickens.

Located in Paihia and with Paihia Beach reachable within 500 metres, Chalet Romantica provides concierge services, non-smoking rooms, a garden, free WiFi throughout the property and a terrace. Beautiful hilltop location with great views; clean, quiet, comfortable

J&D Cottage, a property with a garden, is situated in Kerikeri, 26 km from Opua Forest, 4.5 km from Kemp House and Stone Store, as well as 21 km from Haruru Falls. This is the second time I have stayed there. As with the first time everything was great. The proprietors go to all lengths to help. Place is always immaculate and condiments and snacks/ continental breakfast were perfect for me. I thoroughly recommend this place to stay at - I will be back again.
