Dilini is an amazing host, she recommended us nice spots in Knuckles Forrest Reserve. I would definitely recommend to stay in Matale for more than 1 night and visit Knuckles as much as possible, the nature is really beautiful (although good to have a driver or a car to visit all the spots). Also, the room was very clean with all the needed facilities. Special thank you to Dilini for making a delicious cappuccino during the breakfast!

Sarath and his family are the most welcoming and amiable hosts we had on our journey in Sri Lanka. The lodging is on top of a hill and inside a plantation so you are all surrounded by beautiful nature. As part of the plantation Sarath and his family are growing their own coffee and spices from which Sarath's wife cooked a most delicious breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed our stay at Plantation Retreat very much and will never forget the welcoming and relaxed atmosphere. We can very much recommend a stay here.

Strathisla Guest House har fantastisk utsikt över naturen, en utomhuspool och grillmöjligheter. Det finns gratis Wi-Fi i alla utrymmen. De mysiga rummen på Strathisla har trägolv och fläkt. Perfect stay. Very attentive and nice staff. Breakfast and dinner were great and tasty. The morning walk was so enjoyable. The reading room had even a nice puzzle which we made. Nice swimming pool. We wished we could stay longer. The dogs are friendly too. Thank you very much! 😊

I loved the old style of the house with its inner courtyards, and large verandah. Our hosts were very welcoming and attentive and generous with snacks etc. We enjoyed the bird life in the garden.

The room was lovely and views fantastic. What really made the stay were the staff. I stayed half board and the cook made fabulous food - the best I've had in Sri Lanka and the portions were huge! The manager was also great, picked me up from train, dropped me off at bus station and made sure I got on the right bus. And lovely Santi, waitress/cleaner was full of smiles . I am a solo female and I felt looked after by these lovely people. I 100% recommend and Id definitely return.

Denna bungalow från 1930-talet ligger på en 98 hektar stor teplantage, vid foten av bergskedjan Knuckles. Ashburnham Estate har ett fantastiskt landskap på Sri Lankas landsbygd. Beautiful guesthouse, stunning location, great food and a lovely, warm caring staff. The guesthouse could not be faulted, we loved it.
