Sumatra Expedition Lodge is a recently renovated guest house in Bukit Lawang, where guests can make the most of its garden and bar. We spent Christmas here and we couldn't have picked a better place. Even before we arrived Lily and the gang made it easy by picking us up in Parapet. The lodge is new and comfortable with big rooms, fan and a wunderful view over the rice fields. All food was very good. Lily and Ishako arranged all our hikings as to our request and we loved it. And they were all so very welcoming and invited us to join with their friends Christmas party. This was one of our best stays in Indonesia. We can highly recommend everybody to stay here. We loved it, thank you, Lily & Ishako & Osaka!

The hospitality is great! Easy communication with the host. Robert was great at getting back to me with questions I had. The place is very clean, comfortable bed. I had an excellent meal there. Hot shower. The view is beautiful. The place is located in a more secluded area, not near the city but very close to the ferry.

The best accomodation in Bukit Lawang! Very cozy, calm hotel made with greate taste. It is located in the river, in front of it yiu can see splendid views on jungles! And of course his staff is the best! Mr Arif does his best, he is involved in his job, does everything possible to his guests, thanks him a lot! Moreover i had beautiful one-day trekking with him and we were so lucky! We saw 7-9 orangutans, one gibbon, monkeys tomas, kyffia (snake). Kupu-kupu worth staying in it and pass several days in a little green paradise

Featuring quiet street views, Batu Kapal Guest House & Jungle trekking in Bukit Lawang offers accommodation, a garden, a terrace and a bar. The property has mountain and garden views. It’s in the middle of the jungle. The guest house collects you from the bus and then take you by motorbike to the guest house. 15 mins of dirt bike tracks so not for the faint hearted! The place is so peaceful and situated footsteps from the river - which you can swim in, which borders the jungle. Wildlife all around is amazing - macaques, Thomas leaf and silver leaf monkeys - garden is beautiful and bar/restaurant is such a great friendly space and the Jungle Band played for us 😄 Bayu, the king of the jungle, helped us with the trek and onward travel, the guides, Bagus, Ali, Wise, Donny and everyone who works at Batu Kapel are stars!
