The Bull's Head exceeded all my expectations. It was the perfect mix of heritage/character and contemporary as it was recently entirely redone. For me, it was exactly what I wanted for my solo trip to the Peak District - really cozy and quaint, but new and fresh and clean. My room (#3) was darling - corner unit with 2 windows and great views, warm, and very charming country aesthetic. The minimal traffic and pub noise didn't bug bother me at all, the bed was comfortable, and plenty of complimentary tea/coffee/hot chocolate in the room. The continental breakfast was just right (Canadians, note that it is cold items only). The staff was friendly and lent me a very handy umbrella for my few days. I had one meal in the pub which I enjoyed, which was also cute with the fireplaces.

Kingscroft is situated in Buxton, less than 1 km from Buxton Opera House, 25 km from Chatsworth House, and 29 km from Capesthorne Hall. The hosts were a delight. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. The freshly-made pastries were scrumptious. The location was perfect - quiet and just a short walk to the city centre. The lovely rooms were decorated with attention to detail and comfort and conducive to a restful and peaceful sleep. Very much enjoyed our stay.

Set within 17 km of Buxton Opera House and 24 km of Chatsworth House in Castleton, Four Seasons Guesthouse offers accommodation with seating area. I had a lovely stay. The room was huge with a nice view and had everything needed for the stay (coffee maker, fridge filled with milk and water, etc.). The host was very nice and helpful. The location was an excellent starting point for hiking.

L’habitació de bon tamany i llit còmode. El bany antic però net i correcte. El pub molt agradable amb bon menjar i bon servei. A mitja nit es va disparar l’alarma d’incendis donant-nos un gran ensurt. Va ser una falsa alarma i la van apagar però ningú ens va donar explicacions i ningú ens va demanar disculpes per l’ensurt terrible de que et desperti una alarma brutal. La ubicació és molt bona per excursions al peak District

Set in Leek and only 20 km from Buxton Opera House, Peak Weavers offers accommodation with quiet street views, free WiFi and free private parking. The proprietors were very genial and considerate. After some interesting experiences with London accommodations the preceding two weeks, Peak Weavers was a marked improvement in virtually every way. I would gladly come again.
