The charming restaurant and traditional bar are at the heart of the Feathers Inn. Guests can enjoy an extensive seasonal menu surrounded by old exposed brickwork, original wooden beams and a welcoming log fire. The receptionist Zoe was wonderful, helpful and very friendly. The housekeeping was very kind and polite and tended to any needs we had. Would love to return.

The Two Brewers is just minutes from the M25 and has 20 en suite bedrooms, all with the comforts you would expect from a quality hotel. The hotel has a renowned Chef & Brewer restaurant, as well as meeting facilities for up to 14 people. Really big room and excellent facilities. Pub and restaurant lovely, staff incredible - really child friendly and welcoming.

Midway, a property with a terrace, is set in Garston, 16 km from Stanmore, 16 km from Edgware, as well as 18 km from Hatfield House. There is a private entrance at the guest house for the convenience of those who stay. Free WiFi is available throughout the property and Watford Junction is 5.5 km away. This lovely 2 bed garden room, with shared bathroom, was a perfect solution for us so that our children had their own room, but adjacent to us and safe. The rooms are exactly as per the photos and have a mini fridge, microwave, kettle and some crockery. The bathroom is compact but absolutely fine for an overnight stay, with a good shower. Sally was a wonderful host and was really quick to respond to queries. We would happily stay again. Thanks for having us!

An award-winning pub is 10 minutes’ walk from the guest house. The M11 motorway is just 2 miles away, with historic Cambridge a 30-minute drive away. It seemed amazing but I came in the dark and left in the dark early morning
