Grays Boutique Bed and Breakfast mixes original character and antique furniture with modern comforts. All rooms are elegantly decorated and offer a flat-screen TV with Freeview and a modern bathroom with power shower and luxury Caroline Henry toiletries. Most luxurious B&B we’ve ever stayed in!! Our room was spotless, bed extremely comfortable and beautifully decorated. Walk in shower was huge! Breakfast was first class with many options, including Eggs Benedict! It was delicious!! Eliza and the staff were very attentive and efficient!! We loved our stay there.

Some units in the guest house have private entrance and are equipped with desk and wardrobe. Each unit has a kettle and a private bathroom with a walk-in shower and a hair dryer, while some rooms include a fully equipped kitchenette fitted with a microwave. At the guest house, all units come with bed linen and towels. This is one of the loveliest B&Bs I've ever stayed in. The attention to detail, from the way the rooms are decorated to the presentation of breakfast dishes, was outstanding. I stayed the first floor room featured on the website. What a view over the rooftops of Georgian terraces! I looked out one morning as a hot air balloon glided by. Comfy bed and chair. Really beautiful and spacious bathroom. I stayed for 10 nights during the Jane Austen Festival. The B&B is very close to the Assembly Rooms and handy to many events. I met another lady at an event who was also staying at Hill House, which made it more fun. The hosts, Alex and Tina, could not have been more helpful. One of the staff even assisted me to lace up my Regency costume for an event. Tina's breakfasts were the best ever. (Far better than a famous London railway hotel I subsequently visited.)A work of art, really. I thought, at first, that the location on the hill might have been a challenge, but I ended up enjoying the walk and got really fit. There are buses that stop close by, but I tended to walk everywhere. As a solo traveller this trip, and just into my 60s, this felt like the perfect home away from home with a wonderful Regency feel to enhance my Jane Austen Festival experience. Thanks Alex and Tina!
