Situated in Český Krumlov, 600 metres from Castle Český Krumlov and 200 metres from the centre, Penzion KOVÁRNA features air-conditioned accommodation with free WiFi, and a shared lounge. I stopped here during a road trip round Europe and I think it was best of all the places I stayed (and they were all amazing!). Cesky Krumlov is insanely beautiful, so it’s testament to how great this place is that I wasn’t in a rush every morning to get out an explore. The rooms are beautifully decorated but still incredibly comfortable and practical. The breakfast was delicious and the staff were super friendly. The person-free check in worked perfectly, and even after a dicey drive through the snow to get there I was immediately able to relax. The location on the edge of the old town is perfect, meaning all the sights are within a short walk, but there’s no noise from crowds. There is limited parking at the hotel but there is loads around the town, and to be honest it’s such a pleasant walk I preferred having to wander back to the car. I can’t recommend this place highly enough, I’d honestly come back to Český Krumlov just to stay here again!

Offering garden views, Penzion Kamenný dvůr is an accommodation situated in Třeboň, 45 km from Castle Český Krumlov and 26 km from Black Tower. The penzion was easy to find and we received very clear arrival and self-check-in instructions. It's situated in a quiet area of an already calm town, just a few minutes from the palace gardens, with the town being just the other side of this park. From the train station it was a pleasant and flat 15-20 minute walk. The apartment-style room was clean and had everything we could need for a city break. Beds were comfortable, the bathroom was modern, and the terrace was lovely to sit on and sheltered so it was still possible to enjoy sitting outside on the evening even when there was the occasional rain shower.
