We recently stayed at a wonderful Airbnb-style accommodation in Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil, and had a fantastic experience. The host, Renata, was amazing and went above and beyond to take care of us. She was very kind and helpful, which made our stay incredibly pleasant. For her attentive hosting, I give the property a solid 10. Our group of six found the space a bit tight, but the beds were okay. Despite being there in winter, it was still hot, and we were grateful that the AC worked great. The kitchen was comfortable and well-equipped, even though we didn’t cook. Renata offered snacks and toiletries for purchase, which was very handy as we needed several items she provided. We enjoyed watching TV, especially a Copa America game that Argentina won. The bathrooms were adequate, though a bit small. The neighborhood is a humble, suburban area with views of the big buildings downtown. It might be a bit shocking for people from wealthier countries due to the mix of humble shack-like houses and lovely modern homes. However, I felt safe and appreciated that my kids could experience different ways people live up close. Our driver assured us it was a safe area despite being humble. At night, I could hear a dog barking, but it wasn’t loud enough to keep me awake. In the morning, a rooster crowed early, but it didn’t wake my kids. Overall, we had a great stay and would recommend this accommodation for anyone visiting Foz do Iguaçu.

Situated in Morretes, Pousada Trilha da Serra has an outdoor swimming pool, garden and free WiFi. Private parking is available on site. At the inn, every room is fitted with a wardrobe. A lovely family run place, in a convenient position in the town. The staff were so welcoming and organised our taxi the next day to take us to the airport. Our room was overlooking the yard at the back, which was really quiet, with a small pool, which was welcoming in the heat of the day. We loved the intimacy of this little place and how the people there were so eager to want to help you.

Located in Morretes, Casa 1915 Pousada offers accommodation with seating area. With inner courtyard views, this accommodation provides a patio. We were hesitant to stay here because the reviews weren’t great, but this place was wonderful! I would happily stay there again! It is right in the historical center and we were able to park securely on the street directly in front of the hotel. The rooms were very cute and the breakfast was great. I highly recommend.

Pousada Jardim do Lago is a guest house, which offers guests a comfortable place to stay in Cascavel with a garden and free WiFi. At the guest house, the units have a private bathroom. The place is run by a family that made us feel right at home during our stay. It is located behind a restaurant/café, which was closed on the weekend we were there, but it is the same restaurant where the breakfast was served. Located within walking distance to Cascavel lake, and not that far from where the city pubs and restaurants are. The street is quiet and calm, where we had no problem leaving the car parked unnatended all night. The attention to detail is what surprised me the most with the spotless cleaning and well-groomed plants in the property.

Situated in Paranaguá, Parana region, Paranaguá Lodge is located 49 km from Gruta das Encantadas. Very friendly owners, professional service and stylish design made for a special and comfortable stay in a beautiful home recently renovated as a guest house. Nicely located, just a short walk to the waterfront restaurants, the bus station and ferry port. Exceptionally clean, quiet and safe. Highly recommended!

Set in Ilha do Mel and within 70 metres of Brasília Beach, Pousada Sol e Mar has a shared lounge, non-smoking rooms, and free WiFi. Really can recommend this accomodation! The host was incredibly friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was very rich and delicious. The location of the hostel is very central, right at the port of Brasilia. Cannot imagine better!

Located in Ilha do Mel, 300 metres from Ilha do Mel, Pousada Morada das Flores provides air-conditioned rooms and a garden. The location of the guesthouse is great, a few minutes away from the beach. The staff was very friendly. The room was quite small, but had a private clean bathroom. The property was nice with an outdoor area for breakfast and chairs in front of the room. It also has an outdoor protected kitchen that we could use. We had a good stay.

Situated in Foz do Iguaçu, 4.8 km from Iguazu Casino, Pousada recantoceccataratas features accommodation with an outdoor swimming pool, free private parking and a garden. The host is super friendly, flexible and helpful, frequently checking on us. Breakfast was varied with freshly home made options. Location is perfect if you have a car, as it's just by the border with Argentina and very close to the National Park; but not much you can do on foot, so we relied on Uber all the time.
