The kindest, most caring, and generous hosts! Sparkling clean accommodations, and exceptionally delicious fresh farm to table food from the property. It was an absolutely stellar amazing experience, the best guest house in Breb! For first timers, there is only one restaurant in Breb that is remote and hard to get to, a tiny market, and no bank or ATM. As such, the property you stay at SO important. I extended my stay because this beautiful guest house was so incredibly wonderful, peaceful, warm and comfortable. My Highest recommendation!

Great location, keeping the traditional look while having modern facilities. Homemade breakfast every morning was very tasty and diverse. Also, very convenient for accessing the key tourist attractions in Maramures. The hosts were very nice and more than willing to help with any requests we had.

Friendly people who welcome you like you are family . If needed do communication by Google translate. Comfy bed and bathroom. Access to kitchen and main floor. Big local breakfast. Private parking away from the road. Local advice on locale area.

We had the most wonderful stay at Casa Veche Breb! Ana was such a gracious and accommodating host. We are so glad we took her up on her offer for breakfasts and dinners. She put out huge, delicious breakfast spreads and yummy authentic 3-course dinners for us and we really enjoyed being able to spend time with her and her family. The location is idilyic and peaceful; the room is spacious and very comfortable. We felt like we'd made new friends and were sad to leave!

Very warm and hospitable host family. The room has all the modern comfort with traditional exterior. Shower was warm with good pressure. Mosquito nets were installed on all windows. The mattress was comfortable. This is an authentic Maramures experience where we got to stay on an operating farm instead of a curated touristy guesthouse. The family of 3 generations remained busy with their daily work. Due to my friend's food allergy, we did not dine with the family. However, Luca and his mother still showered us with tea and cakes. We appreciate the quiet and serene backyard too. Come and experience for yourself.

The hosts were warm and friendly and managed to overcome our language barrier with grace and good humour. They offered coffee when we arrived and home made Horica as soon as we sat down. The room was spacious, clean and so comfortable - the best bed in over a month of different hotels/pensiones! The ensuite bathroom was spotless. And the handmade embroidered wall hangings were simply beautiful. We were offered dinner for 50RON pp and it was a delicious 3 course traditional meal. This pensione is located in the traditional Romanian village of Breb in the mountains of Maramures. There is only a very weak internet signal but you will not miss it. A wander around the village and you will be so glad you switched off.

Excellent base for hiking. Breakfast/Lunch/Dinner/Snacks/Drinks available a short stroll away at hosts’ garden cafe/bar/restaurant. Food exceptional and sourced locally from farmers producing sustainably. All prepared and cooked on site in the garden in full view of guests. Size of property. Immaculately presented, stunning and well equipped. Enthusiastic hosts who care about the environment and wish to do business using a sustainable model. Rare to find such a gem managed by such delightful hosts. Who wouldn’t want to return to such an idyllic setting ?
