The owners are very, very welcoming. Each evening we had a sweet treat and traditional bevarages were at our disposal everytime of the day (and night). The vilage is located in a valley with beautiful sightseeings. They have space and toys for children to play with. We were free to watch animals during the feeding procedure (cows and pigs) which was very interesting for the children. The roads are good, exept for a lenght of 50 meters near the house (gravel road). The rooms were spacious enough for our needs.

I had an amazing stay at this beautiful farmhouse in Breb, Romania. The setting was stunning, surrounded by breathtaking countryside and traditional charm. The owners were incredibly welcoming and made me feel right at home from the very start. They went out of their way to ensure I had everything I needed and truly embraced the spirit of hospitality. The food was another highlight, delicious, authentic, and made with fresh ingredients, capturing the real taste of Romanian cuisine. A beautiful family-owned guesthouse. The owners are incredibly friendly and will make you feel welcome right away. The son speaks English fluently so communication for non-Romanians is not a problem. The rooms are very clean and have nice views of the surrounding countryside. They also provide bike rental, which allows you to explore the surrounding villages and the wooden churches. The breakfast and dinner were delicious as well (I can still feel the taste of that amazing meatball soup). I was leaving Desesti on Sunday, when there are no buses running, so the owners helped to arrange a ride for me, which was an extremely nice gesture. Thank you for a lovely stay and I hope I will return back someday.

The property was on a large block of land with natural beauty surrounding it. It was peaceful and serene. Maria was excellent in every way possible. From greeting us, breakfast (all locally made produce), dinner (Maria’s own recipes) and helping us communicate with attraction opening hours. The whole experience was unforgettable. If ever we return to the Maramures we will definitely stay at Pensiunea Mara. Definitely recommend this property.

Was a lovely pension house, in the beautiful village of Breb, which was easy to walk into. The hostesses Penny and Andrada are really helpful and friendly and can't do enough to help. Penny actually took me twice up to sheep station to see traditional sheep milking and cheese making, which was brilliant. There was a great selection in the welcome pack, cheese, eggs, bread, milk etc, which were very useful.

Located in a traditional house, our room was big, nicely decorated with local furniture and embroidery. The room was very clean and comfortable.
The guesthouse is well located and silent at night. The host cooks very well. Both diner and breakfast were homemade with local products and delicious.

This was such a cozy place! The room was very clean and quiet and everything is decorated in such a lovely way. The hosts welcomed us with open arms and made us the best Romanian dinner we had so far. It was nice to get to know the hosts and share some laughs.

It’s a cozy little cabin with sufficient space for 5 or 6 adults situated in a quaint and quiet village. The interior is decorated in a traditional fashion that adds to the experience and the facilities are more than enough, with a kitchen and a barbecue. What made this cabin stand out for us though was the kindness and thoughtfulness of the owners who surprised us with homemade traditional dishes and beverage and set us up with wood and charcoal for the fire. They went the extra mile for us to feel right at home and that really impressed us!
I felt really welcome. The host is very friendly and prepares a delicious breakfast and dinner. It's a great location to discover Breb and the beautiful nature of Maramures.
The property was clean and quiet, the air is very fresh and clean and if you open the window you can hear the river wich is awesome and relaxing. The host was more then nice and friendly. I will come again for sure
