The room we had was big and had a fridge. Sounds of the ocean was very soothing at night.

Absolutely everything! No words can describe our experience. Our room (# 15) was a two individual beds on the 2nd floor, with the view over the inner garden, swimming pool and marvelous landscape to the sea (Desertas island can be seen from the top of the main gate - to the left side). The balcony is shared with two other rooms, with hand-made table and chairs of wicker and wood. Drying rack can be provided. Clean and quiet, we were had with blankets and heating system for cooler summer nights. TV is also included (but honestly we only noticed in our last night!) A common salon for breakfast, relaxing and talking with other guests is a nice place to rest your feet after some levadas and veredas. All place is inspired with the sympathy of Mister António, who welcomed us since day 1 and along our journey, suggesting us places to visit and advising whenever the weather changed and risky places were not advised to visit for safety reasons. We would definitely recommend you to stay here. Specially, who's looking for a retreat in a local village, near to the church and a famous pastery with local and delicious local treasures open all week! As Mister António suggest, to reach this spot from the airport, follow the directions Gaula/Porto Novo (route from the coastline and way up the hill) and avoid Gaula/São Pedro (route from the coastline and way down the hill) due to few narrow and steepy streets where only one car cross.

The best thing about the accommodation is the location - a few steps from the sea, several restaurants, cafés at the door. Despite that the area is quiet and nice.
The room was clean, nicely decorated, everything seems still relatively new.
Just to note: it is a guest house - no room service is available and there is no reception, but the team was very helpful to answer our questions via messages and eager to help, e.g., to provide more clothes hangers or fresh towels.
It was also nice to find some treats in the room when we arrived: cookies, mini bottle of Madeira wine, water - lovely touch!

The house is located just up the road from Portland Cruz and is extremely comfortable.
We found it was great for a family since there is plenty of space and it was comfortable all round.
To top it all off, when we asked about something, the team running the house responded to me in a very reasonable time.

Very lovely place. Its quiet and the views over Funchal are beautiful. The towels and linen were neat and clean. Its a detached room with very optimized use of space. There is even a micro and fridge with ample utencils. Coffee and cakes are also provided in the room, that's a very nice touch.

First floor accommodation next to main road but we didn't hear any road noise.
Property was clean and tidy and staff were able to accommodate our request for us to drop our bags early (due to an early flight) and return after property was ready.

Property was two separate 1 bed apartments with an interlocking door which was opened as we had both rooms. One apartment had a nespresso machine which was nice.

Everything was wonderful. The apartment was charming, comfortable, and spacious, perfect for a long stay. Located in a quiet area very close to Funchal, it is equipped with everything necessary. A very large terrace. The sunrise is beautiful. There are shops and restaurants nearby. The parking space is a plus. Check-in is easy, and the host is very helpful. Nelio helped us with information about the area. We hope to return soon.

Very comfortable beds, clean rooms and bathrooms. 2-3 minutes to the city center/beach with great restaurants and breakfast place. Very nice and helpful host. Close to the airport. No noise from the airplanes. Supermarket and fruits very close by.
Great location, spacious and clean apartment. All basic stuff which usually needed like toilet paper, soap, washing liquid, dish soap, cooking oil, salt & pepper already in apartment. Very nice you do not need to buy those things for short stayings!
Additionally parking place in underground garage, but tricky to park on. Rather for compact car, not for wide SUV. Instant contact with host, with detailed photo & video instructions on how to get keys, get in and so on. Really recommend.
Clean, spacious accommodation. Great location close to the airport and in a quiet area within walking distance of shops and restaurants in Machico. There is an incredible viewpoint to watch the sunrise that is within walking distance. Even though it is close to the airport, it is nice and quiet. Easy check-in, and hostess was very kind. Great value for money. Would stay here again, and I recommend the flat to anyone looking for a quiet, self-catering accommodation in Madeira.
