The place was great, nicely decorated and very clean, although we were only staying overnight on our trip from France to Porto. The host was very nice in coming to greet us after hours, and we managed to explain ourselves somehow with me not speaking Portuguese. A complimentary fruit basket was a very nice touch. Our Burmese cat was accepted without any issue (or cost) and seemingly also felt very comfortable.

Accomodation and room were as expected, I was travelling by motorcycle and there is ample parking in the car park at the front of the hotel. The location was really just a waypoint on a map for me, and in truth there isnt really a great deal at all in the location - but on the other hand I didnt go there other than to use as stopover and for that is was just fine. There was no hot water working in my bathroom, but to be fair that was sorted as soon as I mention it. Breakfast was decent as well.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
