Cozy town to travel to different directions (Porto, Braga, Coimbra, Aveiro) and relax after returning every evening. Great location of the hotel right on the ocean. The room was comfortable for me. Excellent breakfast in the restaurant every morning and table setting, done with special care. Special thanks to the owners and staff. These people love what they do and love their guests. I'm really grateful to you all. And once again I will thank the son of the owner, who did me a very valuable favor, getting a ticket to an international football match, although it wasn't easy. If I'm in this area again, I know where to stay.

The PERFECT studio exists and is located in Botica Guest House. Not only does it provide everything you need to make your stay pleasant, like a perfectly functioning kitchen and fridge, convenient room size, comfortable beds and blankets and hot shower water when you most need it, it's also located near everything in Espinho, a secret gem in Northern Portugal and the Porto area. Elisabete, the owner, handles the property personally and makes sure nothing's missing before you arrive and during your stay, and does so so discreetly you feel almost at home.
Botica has a story, too. It was the old pharmacy and laboratory of the town, hence its name. Now fully renovated, the decoration and room names pay homage to the medicinal plants used for generations, taking the visitor back to what it once was in a way you'll enjoy being in a historic place that helped so many people in the Espinho area.
The same family that built and ran the pharmacy is now running the Guest House so you are supporting the local economy and talent by staying here, and you do that enjoying every comfort.
I was visiting Espinho for a sports competition thinking I would leave for Porto the next day. I ended up extending my stay for an extra night as I wanted more time to enjoy the outstanding beach with the ocean waves and also make me a well deserved breakfast with local products bought from a supermarket less than a minute away from Botica.
Porto and Aveiro are just 25 minutes away from the property's doors and it's just so easy to arrive by train.
An extra feature: Check the dishes/dinnerware if you want to discover a real piece of Portuguese quality and beauty.
Thank you Elisabete and the Botica team!

I stayed at Alameda Guest House for a weekend getaway and was not disappointed. The hostess, Dona Fatima, is the friendliest person in the world. She even upgraded the room I booked, at no extra cost, just because better rooms were available that night! The house has a special charm: it is an old, well-preserved building with colorful, cheerful decor. The room we stayed in was the size of a small apartment, with a living room and a kitchen with all the usual appliances (microwave, toaster, coffee maker). We didn't stay inside for long enough to use any of these, but it could be a great option for families on longer trips. The breakfast included in the price of the stay was delicious, with several homemade items and fresh juice and coffee prepared on the spot. I hope to return to Alameda Guest House to spend more time. The location is equally incredible, close to the beach, and close to everything worth seeing in Espinho! If you go there, don't forget to enjoy Dona Fatima's hospitality!

Everything. Rooms immaculately clean. We stayed in two ten days apart. The hosts were more than hospitable letting me practice my Portuguese on them even though they spoke perfect English. Breakfasts were wonderful..A huge effort wasade to make us feel welcome. A great base from which to explore Porto and the surrounding area.

We had the most fantastic stay and felt so welcome. The communal lounge and kitchen were a delight, it was lovely to have a chat.
The room was spotlessly clean and our dog Ava was made so welcome. We really recommend if you’re in the area stay here, you won’t be disappointed.
Warm and welcoming guest houses are ideal for travellers who prefer unfussy accommodation with a personal touch. They are usually family-run, and your host will provide local recommendations and optional meals. Often cheaper than regular hotels, guest houses can also feature a cosy living room and a garden.
Great location, right in front of the beach and boulevard. Antonio is a friendly host and the hospitality was excellent. I know where to book if i were to ever revisit Espinho again ;)
A high quality souterrain flat with lots of space, great bed, great appliances. Host was very nice and helpful. The area is a quiet neighborhood yet you can walk everywhere in 5 minutes.
The little guest house was really close to a beautiful beach, 2 minutes by car or 10 minutes on foot. The hosts, Cristina and Luis, were very friendly, client oriented and always ready to help us ( in spite language barrier lol). A very clean place, new and cosy, perfect for a holiday on the beach. Quite close to Porto also if one needed a pied-a-terre far from the hustle of a big city. Beds comfortable, linen and towels plenty and spotless. Kitchen with the basics provided. All in all a very nice place to stay!
A warm, beautifully decorated & furnished guest house with a wonderful, efficient, professional & helpful host, Fernando. Enjoyed my stay so much I decided to extend my stay & explore more. Breakfast was amazing & accommodates for different diets. Would highly recommend. Attention to detail👍☺️
Botica’s location in Espinho is perfect: right on the city center, just a short walk from the train station, the beach and various restaurants. Our room was spacious, very well equipped and perfectly clean.
Elizabeth is a great host: she is welcoming, joked around with our little son and even made it possible for us the check on really early (without any extra costs).
We had a great time in Botica and would definitely come back if we returned to the area.
